Precious Achiuwa rookie ranks:

TOP 3 (WS/48, OWS)
TOP 4 (WS, PER)
TOP 6 (PPG)
TOP 7 (TS%)

20th pick in the draft. Absolute steal. Great hands and motor, very intelligent player and fast learner.

Not an excuse, but it's the second night of a back to back, hopefully he bounces back against LAC

Yep. this was I was worried and posted concern before the match.
You cannot go 1-9 and take 20 shots unless you dish out triple doubles like Westbrook and impact other areas.
If he cannot bounce back, big trouble I would salvage value for Bulls/NYK unprotected 2021. White had this same chucking months hes utter trash unplayable.
He needs to attack the rim with his athleticism. This yrs rookies are all bad at the top, Mitchell/Giannis could emerge later.
3 games in and no clear ROY.

Not defending Ant too much here, but 2 of his 3's were half court buzzer shots and another one he was fouled with no whistle. Refs were horribly biased that game.

Yeah Okoro is very small looking out there. I don't buy the 6'6 listing. He's strong and disciplined so I'm hoping those attributes make up for it.

They will make up for it. The issue I see is that one of the reason for picking him at 5th was because of his physicality. Matching up against starting 3's takes away some of his advantages and why the Cavs picked him so high in the first place.

He looks 6'5 or 6'4 to me.

He might be closer to 6'5", but he is built like a brick *bleep* house and has the athleticism to guard 1-3 with a super long wingspan for a player of his size. If your asking him to guard Kevin Durant, it might not work out too well, but he will be just fine guarding the Jimmy Butlers of the world.

Killian Hayes

Post#364 » by BoogieTime » Tue Dec 29, 2020 1:10 am

Killian Hayes has been picking up from his questionable preseason, shooting splits 30/20/50, 2.5/3 assist to turnover, negative PER

Lamelo has gotten some hate, but what’s been going on with Killian?

yeah, a rookie. I am not a big fan tho all I have seen were highlights, so my opinion wasnt very educated. But my impressions were that he is just slow, and not by design slow like Doncic, but just slow in a limited way. I knew more about Sekou and I thought he is a sure bust, as of right now I am not a huge believer of either of Detroits frenchmen.

I remember when people declared D'Angelo Russell a bust after his second or third game of his rookie season. Now he's an all-star.

Preseason too.

Normally big time ballers show signs during the first 6-7 games, they don’t wither.

I don't know about you but I'm ready to write off a kid as a bust after 3 games.

He's clearly a project that isn't ready for big NBA minutes at this juncture (at least from an impact perspective). But its only been a few games so he needs to keep playing and working hard on his craft. Way too early to make any judgements on his career trajectory.

Best thing for him is that the Pistons aren't chasing the playoffs this year. It's been a rough start for him for sure he has shown some skills its just a matter of putting it together. He had a really solid second half of the game tonight total for the game of 8 AST 2 TOs 2 STLs.

He is far from NBA ready but he is just 19 and will have a lot of opportunity for them this year.

Just like Michael Carter-Williams and Kobe

Kobe was competent his first year, like almost all serious players.

Hopefully Killian builds on his 2nd half tonight

He defends well. Tonight was the first game he looked pretty good. Too early to tell either way. He’s really strong and has good size. Had some really nice passes tonight. His shot looks pretty when it goes in, just hasn’t shot well yet.

Tonight he was in control and looked like an NBA point guard. He’s 19 years old. He may just need some time to develop.

No real preseason, no summer league, no national teams or any scrimmages. Waiting like 9 months to get drafted so they can play organized ball.

This draft class doesn't get a grade until the end of the season. These kids haven't had any chance to prepare

Edit: Especially difficult if you are supposed to be a playmaker.
