Suns are the biggest threat to the Lakers repeating

Post#1 » by GSP » Wed Dec 30, 2020 5:03 am

Clips are well known frauds. They cant handle teams with legit bigs. They got lucky Kp got hurt and then sonned by Jokic. Denver didnt even have Barton and Harris was coming back from injury

Mavs could be interesting but i think theyre too flawed on defense.

It would be the Nuggets again but losing Jerami Grant was big. He was their best option on Bron and Ad. They have no one to check either now

Portland is better this season but theyre too easy to stop in the playoffs as weve seen time and time again

Utah is solid but you just arent going anywhere if Rudy Gobert is your best player

Warriors

Phoenix has Cp3 whos a game changer on both ends. Booker is trying on defense and is a top 10 scorer in the league maybe a top 10 offensive player in general. Ayton is potentially a generational big that can compete with Ad physically/athletically. Bridges is becoming one of the premier young talents among twoway players. His defense is SICKENING and hes developing on offense. Crowder is arguably a top 5 role player in the league. Him at the 4 when you have the length of Ayton and Bridges at the 3 is hard to beat

One of the better benches in the league too maybe not top 5 but close enough. Cam Johnson, Saric, Kaminsky can all play and give depth from 3-5. Moore is a really solid player. Cam Payne is a good backup Pg these days. Carter is like Pat Bev 0.5

this team is DANGEROUS

If that's the case, Lakers are going back to back.

According to my general board hot take calculations, by game 6 we should know this year's MVP, by game 8 which rookie is destined to be working the McDonald's drive thru, and by game 10 of this season, we should all know next year's champion.

I am placing my bets accordingly.

I'm gonna give Props to the Suns. Why? CP3. The Clippers were HOT with griffin and cp3. Houston almost advanced past a GS team. OKC last year made a proud showing in the playoffs, now where is OKC?
Common denominator? CP3.
Phoenix will make some noise, especially with Booker as his running mate. They will shock western teams. The key? They need their young center to show improvement.

If suns really are the biggest threat then Lakers are about to sleepwalk to the finals.

I’ll take a conference finals participant banner TBH.

I have a feeling this thread is going to be bumped in March when the Suns record is 25-38.

While the Clips are frauds, I agree, the Suns aren’t really the only threat. Utah and Portland won’t be a walk in the park either.

I'll go with the Rockets if Beard Harden stay.

If Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges keep up the improvement they could be a top 3 seed. Not sure if they have the frontcourt to contend but their perimeter/wing depth is looking really solid.

A lot of threats in the West. Suns, Blazers, Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets, Mavs (with Pozingis), Rockets (with Harden) all have a chance.

Crazy to say but I'd probably put the Conference Finalist Nuggets last out of all those teams.

I got them fighting with like five other teams for the 7th and 8th seed.
