Come on, everyone. We're all Raptors fans. We can have conversations about the team without putting down one another.

Funny how you think tanking means first pick talent or die as though the top 5 of those years which we have been saying is tanking not one or bust have yielded:
-Tatum
-Brown
-Zion
-Ingram
-Luka
-Trae
-Embiid
Funny how you put DLo and not KAT who was the consensus number one or ignored the year before with Davis as number one, or Beal at 3.
Why is tanking being said as top pick or bust when it’s clearly top 5-10 picks are what you need consistently.
This grasping on straws is failing badly now.
Pontificating a narrative that doesn’t exist and then placing it on people you disagree with is a famous rgm tactic of deflection.
Sure - we didn’t say any of those things, but just say we did and voila it’s factual.
The problem is that we all know tanking (or picking high in the draft) doesn't guarantee anything, and its obvious that top 5-10 picks also means nothing. You need to select the best player when you draft - that's it. That is all. There will be a player selected at or after your pick that will be a top 3-5 talent in the draft.

I didn't realize Mobley was this fluid and while the offensive potential is tantalizing, I think defensively is where he really showcases special timing. Look how on that one play he reads 3 different cuts, doesn't get caught out of position AND still makes a block. Seems to fit what you want out of a modern 5 perfectly.

You need to select the best player when you draft - that's it. That is all. There will be a player selected at or after your pick that will be a top 3-5 talent in the draft.
The last 30 years of NBA championships have had only two players drafted outside the top 10 as their best player.
History has ample evidence that top 5-10 means literally everything.
“There will be a player selected at your pick or after that will be a top 5-10 talent”
These exceptions like Jokic are the exceptions. Basically getting the best players comes from the top 10 in the draft, usually the top 5.
No one has guaranteed anything, but Kawhi has been the only non lottery player to lead to a title in NBA history but we think that is more replicable than the decades of lottery picks being superstars.
Again - if we have such incredible scouting, we should be happy to get into the lottery as 2-3 picks will likely net us at least one cornerstone player. If it doesn’t then we should definitely rethink Maasai’s talent evaluation.
You can’t keep getting the Pascals and Fred’s who clearly are 3, 4, 5 guys late in the draft and expecting that the one will come via Kawhi which has happened once in NBA history.
Our title was the exception, history has taught us with a few lottery picks with capable management who doesn’t miss on sure fire players (which is why the Sacramento or Charlotte comparisons are weak) is more likely to build a contender than whatever we have going on. Kawhi’ some title doesn’t change that.
And for those who say remember when we used to tank and were bad! Yeah... remember we had Rob Babcock who would purposely not draft stars? Or Colangelo who made short sighted selfish moves?
How can we compare the person everyone thinks is a top 5 GM to them. If they do then that means Masai isn’t that great for a lot of the things people expect him to be good at because right now a post Kyle team does not look good at all.

Picks I would make and not make.
2012 I wanted AD, MKG, Beal or Lillard (3 out of 4 shot)
2013 No pick but liked Oladipo and Porter
2014 Embiid, Wiggins, Parker (Duke fan), didn't care for Aaron Gordon
2015 KAT, DLo, Okafor (Duke)
2016 Simmons, Ingram (Duke), Hield, Murray and Sabonis, didn't think Jaylen Brown would pan out
2017 Tatum (Duke) and Issac
2018 Doncic and JJJ before Ayton and Bagley (Duke)
2019 Zion, Barrett (Duke), Ja (consensus 3)
2020 Would not tank for a spread out draft
2021 Mobley, Cade, Kuminga, Suggs, Green
2022 Chet Holmgren, Emoni Bates, Victor Wembanyama

I know this was seen as a warning or diss to TWO, but all 5 of those guys would be massive upgrades on what is currently on the roster, so not sure what this is even indicative of. If this is the worst case it's not even bad.

That's why I think he should go #1. Harder to find the unicorn bigs. Kai Jones looks like Mobley but 2-3 years behind in development due to starting playing organized ball later.

PG Ball
SG DLo
SF Wiggins
PF Simmons
C Ayton
Ya, that looks like they'd be 2-1.

Just look at past drafts, bad track record.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

You must be trolling. Is this like how you said Lavert was the best player in the Raptors - Nets series.

"Massive upgrades"
Besides Simmons and Ayton, none of these players would even be starters on our team. The tanker psychosis is something else.

Cue the porno music! enough of FVV running around like a chicken with his head cut off and then right into a rejection at the rim. an injection of high ceiling natural talent is what this team needs. give it 1 year of TWO and this team will rise again.

It’s fun watching Nets-Hawks, two teams with superstar talent on it with an actual future.
When we get slapped by the Hawks and Magic, people will accept that this team sucks and the tank should roam.

Most likely scenario is that we are just below 500 going into the trade deadline, we should Lowry, go .250 the rest of the way and enter the draft lottery with 7-10 best odds
