I was talking about his defense, he has always been an offensive talented player, but in my opinion he is an extremely weak defender.

The analytics would actually tell a VERY different story. Both at Kentucky and here. And again, he's 20. By 25 he will be an absolute superstar in this league on both ends.

By realistic timeline he is a junior in college

I know im contradicting my initial point I was more talking about the problem with Duncan next to Herro in the starting lineup

5 years then. Hopefully we can both enjoy when he becomes such a player.

So, is the thought guarding Giannis with a smaller/quicker guy is to take away some of his ability to go around bigger guys and to bait him to shooting away from the basket? It's not a bad option.
