Come up with a Blake trade!

Everyone, here are the top 100 salaries. You know how they say that no one is tradable?

Trade Blake Griffin.

It’s a lot harder than you think.

I think he’s here all season. I can’t find any match where the other team would be happy. And obviously we’re not giving away picks to dump him.

So here’s the challenge- who can come up with a trade?

I don’t see a scenario where a team gives up a 1st for him. Shut him down until he expires.

Its easy!

Blake for Wiggins

Blake for Horford

You just have to take back an extra year of salary.

Neither GS or OKC are doing that.

No team will want him without getting assets in return. He's was a shell of his former self athletically in the great season he had with us 2 years ago, and now he's a shell of the player he was that season. I've accepted that he's gonna be here until the end of next season.

I would assume if we can't find a trade for him by Feb 2022 (13 months) we'll buy him out at a small discount so he can play for a contender. We'll probably save like $1 million on the buyout and he gets to finally get out of Detroit. So although it seems like we have two more seasons with him its really just 13 more months.

If GSW were better, maybe for Klay Thompson. If they felt Blake would help them get closer to being strong in the playoffs.

GSW is not good, so thats not an option.

Blake could get traded for someone who is hurt badly and has a long contract. Question is, do the Pistons try that or just get $40 million in cap space in a couple years.

Even if GSW were good, they wouldn’t trade Klay for Blake. Heck, even if Blake was playing like he was two years ago, I doubt they’d do it. Steph and Klay are their core, for better or for worse. Dray may leave or get traded — he grates on people. The Splash Brothers are lifers here unless they ask out.

Neither GS or OKC are doing that.

Why wouldn't OKC want their hometown hero? Horford's extra guaranteed half year makes this a wash.

I don't want to trade for Horford and his extra year. If Horford were 3-4 years younger I'd be cool with it but he'll still be under contract at 37 years old in 2022! I have to imagine he will be pretty unplayable at that point.

I still think there is a chance Blake looks better in a couple months. If not, it's not a big problem to keep him around next year at least temporarily until we buy him out.

This year? No. Although I do believe Presti, being ten times smarter than Weaver, could make the trade any time he wants to.

Just trade a top 5 protected first with him, it's worth it to create a better on court environment for our current young guys. These guys should be playing defense and running in transition, not standing in the corner while Blake jogs up the floor and spends half a shot clock trying to break down his man off the dribble. Playing the right way in the right system can be the difference for a lot of these guys.

Funnily enough Tobias Harris might actually be one of the few contracts in play. Maybe Philly would give us a 1st in 12 months time.

Buy him out so he can join whatever team he'd like. There is absolutely no realistic trade.
