They need to stop shooting and start attaching the rim. But you also need to make your free throws. They’re getting beat on the boards too. Getting beat in second chance points too.

Hahaha! I made the mistake to keep watching. But it was worth it for that Richardson uncontested missed layup. lol

Josh Green showing a little something. Good energy and good defense.

live by the 3 you die by the 3.

We desperately need KP back and we need to use our big's inside not as 3 point shooters.

For now I t5hink what makes sense is to use Boban with his inside scoring as a way to get things going plus he has a lot to offer for getting teams to open up their defense trying to stop him inside so your outside shooters are open more and the side benefit is he rebounds way better than average.

You just need to surround him with faster defensive minded guys that can cover for his lack of speed. Say you keep Boban out there with Luka, J Rich, DFS and WCS at the 4 now you have a center for defense and one to use as a rebounding scorer. With 2 bigs you rebound much better as well. WCS and Boban can both hit 3's if they try to.

Just an idea to switch things up and get us some different looks to confuse the other team.

Luka is turning into one of the worst three point shooters in the league and when teams figure this out it’s going to be impossible for him to get to the rim.

His irresponsibility when it came to his diet and exercise is really affecting how this season has started, as a team and individually.

We will be lucky to be 8th seed

They need to attack the mid range. They don’t really have anyone that can play with their back to the basket. If the 3 isn’t falling and you’re not having any success going to the rim attack the mid range.

I still can't get over the fact that he showed up as out of shape as that. I really thought he had a great work ethic, I thought he wanted to be the best. But how can it be possible when you don't do the most basic part of your job : be in shape?

He also said he worked on his shooting. Did he?

We assume that he's a better FT shooter, but we still have no statistical evidence of it. After tonight, he's a 80% FT shooter... He was at 79% 2 years ago and 82.4% last year to start the season (October and November). He was at around 80% in the Euro league...

Not sure what was going on tonight. Luka was pissed from the start and got early technical, and did look like he wasnt happy with someone on the bench.

But god I want powell gone almost as much as i wanted barnes gone

The Hornets need to trade either Graham or Rozier for a big man. Ball should be their full time starter. It’s going to be hard to develop the guy if he’s only playing around 20 minutes a game.

I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing that he isn't having a lot of success so far.
His off-season laziness would be a problem every season going forward and hopefully he'll learn from this.

Do we panic now or wait to see what happens after KP arrives?

Now. Can’t put all our hopes on an injury prone big that needs rest periodically throughout what’s left of an already condensed season

Way too early to panic. It’s a 72 game season and it’s only game 4.

No,

when Boban is playing we see why he isn't playing much. The guy cant defend **** on defense, not even protecting the rim. On Offense this season he also wasn't impressive.

I hate to be right about the state of a team. I was telling you guys before the season started that this team isn't that good and what is worse has an out-of-shape Luka and is missing Porzingis. Playoffs are not a given, Dallas will have to fight for them and there is no guarantee Dallas will make it in the end.

This is a 35 win team without porzingis so he is vital

Doesnt help that most of our guys cant hit the ocean. But been a lot of that those first rounds, not just for mavs. Bit first 2 games we missed everything, against clippers we hit everything, now we missed again. And same for a lot of other teams. Think its because of the short preseason, things just isnt natural yet in teams.

Im not panicking. If we are below 500 after 41 games I will panic. Not because im in a hurry, but because I dont want knicks to have a chance to get a great pick

Mavs need another playmaker so Luka can play off ball some. Cant have Luka taking 45 dribbles in one possession that just ends on a 35 foot step back miss. Seen those too often from him and he seems to miss a ton of those. When every possession goes through Luka it becomes very predictable. Even Lebron needs Rondo or Schroeder to handle PG duties for some stretches and Lebron is already athletic and can take anyone to the rim. We got an overweight kid who thinks he can take anyone to the hole only to take an ill advised step back three.
