Only 5 games in but he's the only player to be a terrible negative on both offense and defense and he's sinking every single line up he is in. Won't be long before THT swallows all his minutes and you have to attach an asset to move his ass.

THT was god awful vs Portland chasing Trent which got him benched. He also is a black hole in the season when he plays.

Kuzma +10
Kuzma -23
Kuzma +38
Kuzma +7
Kuzma +1

Shooting 46% from the field. Shooting 44% from three on the five attempts a night Vogel said he expects Kuz and AD both to take. Shooting 75% from the line which is still one of our best. And averaging 12 points on 1 less shot a night than he took last year. All in 25 mins.

Kuz is literally a +33 on the season when he is on the floor and the team has one of their best defensive ratings with him out there.

We are a +9 total when THT plays, largely in garbage time off of leads Kuzma and the real players have built up. He had a nice preseason but Xavier Henrys clone isn't a rotation player, and as Trent exposed him, he is no defender like Caruso either.

You don't have to be a blatant liar thought to promote THT and slander Kuzmas actual production. The only game he has been a negative in was Portland. And that includes the Clipper game where Kuzmas defensive numbers against PG were much better than anyone on the team. PG13 shot a mediocre 3-7 (42.8%) when guarded by Kuzma and PG13 shot a blistering 10-11 (90.9%) when guarded by 9 different Laker.

I misread the defensive rating but looking at per game +/- is pointless when evaluating his impact within the team.

Per BBref

LAL ORTG with Kuz on: 110.3 Kuz off: 128.4
LAL DRTG with Kuz on: 100.4 Kuz off: 115.4

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/k/kuzmaky01/on-off/2021

So a net negative of -3 per 100 possessions, not bad as I initially feared but not positive either.

Uh. I wish I didn't see this guy quoted ever again, because I can see his posts that way. Been on my foe list for the longest time, he's by far the worst poster on this board.

He has this worst man crush on two notorius scrubs, Kuzma and KCP. They are **** role players and will never be more than that. But for some reasons, this guy has to bring them up every single day in his posts with ridiculous takes who don't reflect reality.
I mean seriously, if he's not related to them he needs to consult a specialist or something, it's a borderline unhealthy obsession.
I foe'd him because I didn't see a post typed by him in which the names "KCP" or "Kuzma" hasn't been typed by him and I see he's still going strong.

And he does it here because he knows he's gonna be chewed up and spit out on the GB or on any other place filled with somewhat objective individuals.

Here he is, chugging some D of some guys averaging 12 and 3 and 10/1/1 a night like they're some kind of Jesus Christ reincarnated.
And the fact he's downplaying and insulting clearly better players to prove his points is just infuriating to me.

Kyle Kuzma

17.3 ppg 4.6 rpg 2.6 apg 0.3 spg 1.4 bpg 2.0 to per 36. 25 year old, won't get better than this.
.580% TS, 13.3 PER, .098 WS/48, -3.0 on/off

THT

21.7 ppg 4.5 rpg 3.7 apg 3.0 spg 1.5 bpg 1.5 to per 36. 20 year old, "Xavier Henry" reincarnation apparently.
.588% TS, 21.4 PER, .224 WS/48 +2.0 on/off

Talen Horton Tucker is more complete, impactful and better basketball player and it's not even close. You can look at college, G-league, whatever you want. Kuzma is a trash shot taker and that's it, doesn't do a lick more. Doesn't rebound, doesn't playmake, he played marginal defense one year of his life(last year, and he's vastly overrated by some posters here for it, he's had an average to slightly above average season defensively, nowhere near "good", let alone great), was a terrible defender every other year.

99/100 guys would take THT over Kuzma, including the Lakers. The one guy is this guy.

So yeah, I can't wait for the day he's out of the door because that will be the day he will probably dissapear from this board, making it far more enjoyable. There is a shortage of posts lately and the dumb ones really stand out.

I found the first half of last night's game to be incredibly boring; I turned it off at halftime. Kuzma has taken the title from KCP for being the most polarizing player on our team. He's simply far too inconsistent. I wish he would focus more on being a spot up shooter and slasher. I think Vogel mentioned something to the effect of wanting Kuz to mirror/take elements of Duncan Robinson's game. Kuz is actually pretty solid on catch & shoot. In an otherwise poor shooting season, he still managed to shoot 37% on catch & shoot from 3s last season. At this point we have enough data that suggest he's an average shooter at best. I have noticed a significant improvement in his effort on defense and making the extra pass.

At this point I think It's valid to question the value of his contract. He doesn't do anything particularly well. I guess management is hoping he has some untapped potential... this is still possible. KCP was a below average to average shooter his first few years; now he's arguably the best shooter on the team. Guys like Rondo has become a respectable shooter later into his career.

OMG, guys last year, it was Rondo fans vs haters now it's THT worshippers vs Kuzma apologists? :o
I can't help but wonder if Vogel see this kind of posts, what will be his reaction, will he smile, laugh or roll his eyes?
I mean, we are comparing a 6-2 scoring guard to a 6-8 SF/PF tween who was just been given an extension worth about half of Brandon Ingram's new contract. We can argue and bicker what's his real worth but most likely he'll play about 24-27 mins per game, some nights, he'll have a hot shooting game, some games, he'll go cold, just like other players like Wes Matthews and KCP.
IMO, Kuzma would have a better chance showing his potential if only AD agrees to play center but it's unlikely to happen.
THT was fantastic during the preseason and if they can improve on team defense, clean up the turnovers and demolish opponents early, then he'll get his minutes. Vogel is biased towards defensive minded vets who will commit less mistakes, that is why THT has been playing less, inspite of Caruso being out.
