I had Hayes and Haliburton as the top two guys from last year's draft. Any idea why both fell so far? At worst they should have both been top 5 picks. I would take both over Ball and Edwards easily.

not surprised at all he's looking good, i was all in on the pistons drafting him 7th and was disappointed when they took hayes.

then i was gutted when i read after the draft that haliburton was telling teams he wanted to play for the kings. i believe it too, even if the pistons didn't take him (over hayes' "potential"), there is no way the spurs would pass on him as he's 1000% the type of player they go for.

so yeah still gutted but all i can say to sacramento fans is to thank your lucky stars haliburton wanted to play for you guys.

1) If you needed another point of evidence to show that Divac may have been the worst GM in the last 10 years remember that the reason for not picking Doncic was they didn't want to take the ball out of Fox's hands. Now look at how Fox and a secondary ballhandler (like Hali) can work together. Not like we needed this evidence, though.

2) The detractions on Haliburton remind me a bit of the ones on Doncic pre-draft. "Not a spectacular scorer", "shooting may not translate", "lack of athleticism means low ceiling, high flow", etc. What Doncic taught us then and Haliburton is teaching us now is great fundamentals combined with an elite BBIQ can overcome the lack of standout physical abilities.

Or that height matters he'sa 6'5 PG.

Hali is better than most of the guys taken in front of him. And it’s odd because this was obvious. How GM’s talked themselves out of this guy is beyond me.

It's odd how he fell so late in the draft. Even espn had him as the 4th best player during the draft night.
I'm also shocked the Spurs didn't get him when he fell to them.

Halliburton was a warrior favorite if they traded down. Its great he wanted to go to Kings.

Did you even watch Edwards or Ball? Their floor is maybe a bit lower than Hayes' or Hailburton's, but their ceiling is much higher. Ball has elite size and athleticism for a PG while having many skills, while Edwards is a 6'6'' explosive wing weighting 230lbs as a 19 year old and also multi-skilled. Edwards might even grow an inch or two more and become even more athletic on top of already being the most athletic guy in this class, and he already is among the most athletic wings in the league.

Both Ball and Edwards have looked really good so far, so it's mysterious to me why you'd post something like this.

Let's revisit this in 5 years. I get why they went top 3. I personally don't like either as much as Haliburton and Hayes.

Rondo with a jumper.

That's his comp potential. And that's pretty damn good. The steal of the draft fell right into Sac's lap. No idea how.

Taller, longer Rondo with a wicked good jumper and a better attitude and better ability to play off ball. Outside of superstars Hali is the hardest type of player to acquire. There are just so few like him. Brogdon and the list starts getting short quickly.

He was the first step of pacers' rebuilding via trade yet thanks to his awesome performance and potential Indiana's rebuilding seems nearly complete.

The Kings should’ve gotten an absolute haul in return for Haliburton. He’s going to have a phenomenal career.

Sabonis is def a very good player. Haliburton is special and it was obvious at the time of the trade.

Kings got fleeced.

Haliburton is very good and an all star. When you say special are you saying Jordan or Lebron special? Or what caliber player do you have him at? All nba first team?

I'm loving Tyrese and I'm all aboard his hype train, and I wanna see him catapulted stardom and take the Pacers deep into the playoffs where we haven't been in awhile.

But the Kings have a better record than the Pacers currently. Talk of them getting fleeced in the trade is way premature.
