This is the coming out party for Mikal Bridges. This is the year he's going to step it up and wreck havoc on the league. Offensively I hope he stays aggressive as he was in the preseason.

Love Luka immediately staring down the ref right off the bat when Mikal got all ball, yet he still flailed his arms like he was attacked by a velociraptor.

It's funny, I actually enjoy watching Luka play when he goes against other teams, but when he plays the Suns, I see all the ref-talking.

Also despite being much more aggressive with the ball, not just shooting but putting the ball on the floor to get to the rim, Bridges has recorded zero turnovers after almost 100 min over 3 games. He's always been excellent at taking care of the ball and he'll log his first turnovers sooner or later but it's great to see that he's able to keep turnovers down despite doing so much more with the ball.

He could range from a guy like Covington to something close to George. His 2nd year #s are not too far off from George in many respects. He is not as good from 3 but far better from 2. He shoots over 60% from 2 and has a TS% of 61%,far higher than George did. If he happened to get close to 40% from 3 and added close to 2 more apg, he would be a fairly elite 2 way player.

He would have to develop a handle to become more like Paul George. It's not unheard of for more defensive role players on the wing to develop handles and take the next step. Siakam and Jaylen Brown did it this year. Butler and George did it in years past. Mikal is a pretty good athlete, with long arms and quickness, and some alright hops. He would be ideal for developing his game in the fashion that those other guys have. As with any case, it's always a long shot. But that's what he would need to do.

It's interesting certainly, and you'd it's something the team would try to work on. No reason not to- a tighter handle and being able to drive is always a great addition to anyone's game even if they don't take the leap from role player to star.

We nailed it bw! He’s beginning to expand his game in the fashion we thought he would.

He needs to be paid his market value which will be high. The question is how much more will we pay Bridges than Ayton.

Booker, Bridges, Cam Johnson + rebounders, defenders, and shooters =

playoff team for the next ten years.

Is Bridges currently the 4th best player from his draft? After Trae Young, Doncic and SGA, I’d have to guess the consensus from most basketball fans would be Mikal.

It’s close especially with how well MPJ and Divincenzo have been playing but I think Bridges edges them out due to his 2 way ability imo. Jackson Jr has a chance if he plays the same way he did before getting injured when he averaged 17 pts on good efficiency and almost 2 blocks a game even though his rebounding numbers are embarrassing.

He will be at least one of these: all defensive team, mip, or all star if he keeps this up. And I feel real comfortable giving him a huge bag. More so than any other player on the team - yes, that would include Book too if he were up for a contract. He is the smartes basketball player on our team for sure.
Question: if you can not say Nash, who was as smart on the court as he is? I can't really think of anyone.

Yes, I was thinking of player rankings from that draft the other day. He's 4th right now. Ayton is probably 5th.

After that it's probably Devonte Graham, MPJr and JJJr....but the latter two are pretty injury prone and MPJr is awful defensively. JJJr has been very very disappointing defensively based on expectations as well and his rebounding is bad. He's more or less been a tall perimeter 3 pt shooter.

Grant Hill, Jason Kidd. But that's probably it over the last 20 years.

There isn't enough discussion of Kawhi Bridges nationally for my liking.
