Hate to throw in the towel, but I’m now in the blow it up frame of mind.
We have three assets that should net picks ... Beal, Russ and the Fatvian Laser.
Sell them off, stockpile picks, let the promising young ones sink or swim.

Re: Who Will Be Gone?
I have always been an overly optimistic fool when it comes to the Wizards. I went into the season thinking the Wizards would win 50 games. It didn’t take long for the Wizards to kill my optimism.
I have an off the wall idea that will never happen, but what the hell, fire brooks, make Westbrook the interim player/coach.

Viva le tank! At this pace, it will never end.

No argument from me, but I'd make damn sure that it won't be Sheppard making the deals and that it won't be Brooks coaching the bunch.

There really couldn't be a better year to tank:
- Almost everyone else is trying to win except NY, DET and OKC
- The 2021 draft is awesome.
- There are no fans in the arenas anyhow, so the financial impact is minimized.

This is a great year to tank, but we're also in win-now, bordering on desperation mode. The gap between 2021 and 2022 and the 2020 draft class is pretty big. I wonder what teams are willing to part with their 2021 picks though, probably none.
I think there are more teams that are stealth-tanking and will reveal themselves as the year goes on. Cleveland, Memphis, Toronto (a big candidate for a blow-up), Hornets, Warriors (things might get ugly for them).

I'm not suggesting we trade for a 2021 pick. The only team with a potential 2021 lotto pick who could reasonably acquire and retain Beal is Golden State.
But even if we don't trade Beal for a 2021 1st, we can still tank our way into a high 2021 1st. And as soon as we trade Beal, we are no longer in desperation mode. We are in patiently rebuilding mode.

Not sure about the young guys yet.
Rui strikes me as low ceiling/high floor.
Bonga strikes me as low ceiling/medium floor (as opposed to Rui’s higher/better floor)
Advi I’m not sure about, love his feel for the game and basketball IQ but don’t see him ever being a top 3 scorer on any team or cracking the top 40 scorers in the league
Bryant—I love what he does bring & I love his contract even more but like the others he may be good enough to hold onto but he’s not good enough to build around

He's 19. There's really no way of knowing what offensive skills he will develop over time. I think top 40 is certainly possible... or maybe not.
What's great is that he already belongs on the floor defensively at this age. It gives him all the time in the world to improve his offensive game. We don't have to worry about him hurting the team's performance while he develops.

Good points. It's funny, but true.

And don't forget the windfall from a Beal trade plus the Wiz'(hopefully) top 5 lotto pick in a supposedly stacked draft. This team won't be lacking in young talent if they decide to go the rebuild route.
Plus, this is probably the best time to start a rebuild given that you won't see the effects of no fans in the stands.
