found it. "As part of the trade, L.A. will send to New York forward Maurice Harkless, a 2020 first round pick, a protected 2021 first round swap option, and Detroit’s 2021 second round pick."

Hindsight is always 20-20 but damn this was an EXCELLENT trade for us. Wanted Shamet at the time but Quickley and Detroit's 2nd rounder is a tremendous get

This is where, I think Leon has been good at extracting value in trades so far, just need to see if his drafting skills are good to maximize potential.

We have Detroits 2nd rounders in 2021 AND 2023?

I figure by 2023 Detroit will "ok", but that 2021? Have to figure it's 33-36.

https://www.prosportstransactions.com/basketball/DraftTrades/Future/Knicks.htm

So, Knicks have their own 2021 2nd rounder, and one each from Detroit and the Hornets

Based on Vegas odds (and common sense)
https://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/win-totals/
those will be among the worst 5 teams in the league. Let's consider a team like the TWolves or Bulls falls and maybe pushes out the Hornets to 6th worst.

Knicks should have 3 picks between 31 and 36

Since OKC, based on not being that great and playing in the west seems likely to be worst, and just have to assume some team beats the Knicks as worst in the east - let's say Cleveland, Knicks could have their 3 picks land 33-36 - 3/4 picks in succession.

How is this draft for DEPTH?

I know it's strong in terms of depth of the top end, but does the depth extend down to the 30's in this draft?

Will be interesting to see if the Knicks can pick up an extra 1st and/or 2nd pick for 2022 and then for 2025 (not a hurry, obviously) as these are the drafts between now and 2027 where the Knicks don't have any picks but their own.

Don't have our 2nd this year

We traded it and 2020's 2nd to Philly for Willy, who we traded to Charlotte for their 2020 and 2021 2nds

Essentially, we swapped 2nds with Charlotte last year and this year.

Ah, ok. I thought we traded back for it, instead of Charlottes. Also, that website confusingly makes it look like we have both.

Still, that's 2 2nd rounders which should fall as high as 31 (unlikely) and probably 33-36. Not bad.

* I guess a person is supposed to look at the furthest column instead of the first one to see who has the pick

*edit - based on that, the 2023 pick is from the TWovles; not as good as the Pistons, but essentially a crap shoot. Either team could stink it up or get better. Feels like edge TWolves to be better.

I find the one on RealGM to be the easiest to follow:

https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

We have 2 extra 2nds in 2023, from Utah and Detroit, in 2024 we get the better of Utah or Cleveland, and the Minnesota 2nd is in 2026 which is so far out it's really hard to predict.

I’d trade both 2nd rd picks with our Dallas pick to move up as far as we can so we can have 2 really high 1sts tbh.

Can someone explain to me why some sites list Springer as a PG/SG & Johnson as just a SG? Keon shows way more PG potential than Springer.

The athleticism is great, but I’m hyped about the dip in the shooting motion. Let’s see how Jalen Green does in the G League

I want Keon. We can develop him behind Quickley and enjoy his breakout in year 2 or 3.

From trading Morris we got Quickley and probably a pick in the early 30s from Detroit in the upcoming draft. That’s a nice haul. Might even wind up being better than what we get from KP with the 2021 and 2023 mavs picks. DSJ already amounted to nothing

Neither Morris or KP have played in a game this year with knee injuries

I wish the acid I get made me trip as hard as Bill Walton during any random broadcast.

Ziaire is moving so much better than he was in that first game at the Maui invitational.

Bryce Wills is so annoying.

It’s a long NBA season. Don’t discount the draft swap just yet.
