Great stat I found on Reddit. This years Wisconsin Badgers starting lineup is older than the Bulls starting lineup, and by a full year!

So far this year, second round pick Richaun Holmes is outplaying #2 overall pick Marvin Bagley- higher ppg, higher rpg, and almost double the fg%.

Donovan Mitchell is having a really rough start- something like 35% fg, 27% on 3's.

We have the 6 best offense in the league right now- who would have predicted that? but also the 3rd worst defense. Not surprisingly, the Knicks, under Thibs, have the worst offense in the league, and the 5th best defense. Let's see how long Knick players continue to buy into that sort of basketball. I give him 2 seasons, at most.

The pieces were always there, we just needed balance on offense.
As far as defense goes, I think a lot of that is having so many thing new on D and getting the timing down.

We played Washington, Atlanta and GS, come on, they all play lousy D. Atm we are good at getting free throws, 2nd best team, but we are lousy to convert them. When we drop in getting free throws and play good teams it will get painful.

Yeah, I do not think we will stay that high in offense. But even middle of the pack would be a huge improvement. But they have to improve their D or they will get crushed by the good teams.

Both of those numbers are misleading, because we are playing at the 2nd-fastest pace in the league (108.1, behind only the Warriors). The league average is 102.0, so in our games each team gets an extra 6 possessions compared to league average.

In the numbers that matter, we are 18th in Offensive Rating (108.5) and 21st in Defensive Rating (113.8), according to basketball-reference.com

this is the team that hoiberg wanted but never got. which means that he probably would've gotten fired even faster

Impressive win for Atlanta tonight, rolling the Nets by 18. Trae was just ordinary good, but supported by 23 from Hunter, 20 from Collins, and double-digit points from Capela, Reddish, and Huerter. I don't know which of last year's playoff teams Atlanta will displace, but I'm pretty sure that this Hawks squad is among the East's top 8.

Who on that roster will be there in 2 years other than RJ, Toppin and Robinson?

Atlanta is too deep. Many teams will hate seeing them on their schedule.

I think they'll be a regular season strong performer but in the playoffs they lack 2 way players and high level scorers. I can see them getting the 6th seed and getting swept or losing 4-1.

Yep. Exactly! They have a bunch of 4th options and Trae.

And I like Trae and he's a young star but he can't guard anyone, he's streaky, he's tiny and he doesn't have elite athleticism. Even Steph struggles in the playoffs and that's a better player who is more experienced. I think Trae is going to ultimately be a #2 and needs some work. It'll be nice for them to be exciting and make the playoffs but I think that's all she wrote. Some of these youngsters are going to have to really pan out, a consolidation trade and Trae will need to become better before they get anywhere.

He was part of those very good PHO Suns teams of the 70's with the Van Arsdale brothers. Sorry to hear about him passing.
