I think he will only get better as he learns to take better routes to the ball over time. He will also be quicker next year with fully healed legs, and doesn't have to cover as much ground in left than in right.

ehhh, even my glasses aren't that rosey.

Best player in the NL no question is Pujols. As much as I hate him/STL, there is simply no denying it.

I think more absurd than declaring Soriano as the best player in the NL is trying to compare him in any way to Corey Hart. ;)

What about Jose Reyes, Ryan Howard, Miguel Cabera, Prince Fielder, and many more. They are all better than Soriano.

Like I said Corey hart is not nearly as good a player as soriano...except for there numbers this year are damn near identical.

I was just using that to prove a point that he is not the best player even on his own team.

But yeah Albert is by far the best player in the NL.

If Soriano didn't strike out so much he would be more feared like Pujols. It's not that hard to get him out. If he made more contact he would have one of the higher averages in the NL.

It's not contact that's the problem. A .294 average is fine. A .332 OBP is not. He lacks any kind of understanding of the strike zone. So many times I've seen him chase the first pitch, then take the second right down the middle to go 0-2.

Soriano's only been the third best Cub this year, and you could probably argue 25 NL players have been better than him.

If they don't make the playoffs... I will cry and become a fulltime Blackhawks fan... Yeah I said it.

For sure, if Mark Cuban comes in and buys the team. Otherwise, I wouldn't bank on it. I know if they fail this year to make the playoffs and I'm not buying any tix, clothing, anything cubs related for a long time. But who knows, maybe management is pining on winning it next year, in the 100th anniversary since the last championship...
