Last season the Who Ya Got game was cut down in its prime thanks to Covid-19. 9 months later we are finally back to start a new season and vie for that number one spot every week again.
This is going to be year 2 of the Rosas rebuild, the roster is almost completely made over, KAT has two new budding stars at his side in Beasley and Russell, and perhaps another future superstar on his team in Anthony Edwards. While KAT has gained much when it comes to quality teammates he has lost much more in his life due to the tragic passing of his mother and 6 other members of his family through complications of Covid-19.
This will be a heavy burden to carry for young KAT and the Timberwolves organization but like every year, we have to deal with it and soldier on. Will the Timberwolves finally break through and be a good team? Can the youngest team in the NBA make a push for the playoffs? Will there be another first-time winner in this year's Who ya Got!? Plus/Minus competition? Time to find out starting now!
For those new to the game lets go over the rules and practices
Anyone can join in on the fun at any time and take their shot at being a winner. There is no long term commitment. Stop in and make a pick for one week, one game, or all season! It doesn’t matter. Every season people play as much as they want.
The Game: Playing the +/- game is simple. You pick any player before the game and you watch them play. Anything that player scores above his average gives you + points. Anything the player scores below his average give you - points. The goal is to have the most + points by the end of the week. Whoever has the most points by the end of the week is the weekly winner.
Example: You pick Beasley and he goes off for 27 points. Since
Beasley averages 17 PPG you would get +10 for that night. Conversely, if Beasley played and got 1 point, you would get -16.
Important Rules and Guidelines:
-You can change your pick at any time before the game*
*(You can not change your player if he is already started playing.)
-Numbers WILL NOT be rounded. If a player is averaging 19.9 PPG it will count as 19.
-If you pick a player and they do not play you get 0 points, you don't lose or gain anything.
-You can pick any number of "insurance" players if you are unsure if your player will play.
-Do not make your picks for the next day's games until after the current game is finished.
-The Calrissian rule: This rule states that a player isn't eligible to be picked unless they have played 3 games for the Timberwolves in the season. After the three-game period, they will be using their average PPG as a Timberwolf only going forward.
- The sudden death rule: This rule states that in the event of a tie during the final win tally of the season, the champion with the most total point number with their wins, wins the year, the other champion gets a runner up title. If the totals of both competitors happen to be the same, then well, I'll figure something else out
-You can not request one player for multiple games. Eg: You can't say "Give me KAT for the week.
It is time to crown the 2019-2020 Who Ya Got +/- champion! The season was cut short and there were several people in the hunt to take the crown. +/- favorites Klomp and Jedzz were really close to winning it all while Calinks was nowhere to be found in the title contention. In the end, there was one poster who pulled out just one more win than the other to be made +/- king. Who is that lucky sun of a gun?
T H E D O M I N A T O R 2 7 3
Fantastic job pulling that one out of the trainwreck that wound up being last season! TheDominator273 did what he had to do to keep the wins coming and he did it early so he could secure his crown and kick back while everyone else was praying for a quick season return so they could pad their stats. Great work Dominator, you dominated the last season and perhaps we will see you do so again this season!
