Loved Jaylen's shooting, but not even close if you understand basketball. Sorry, but true.

Team is in a huge hole without a real playmaker out there. For Tatum to get 12 assists to 0 turnovers was massive. Especially given that he gets twice as much defensive attention as anyone on our roster. He is under attack out there.

Doesn't concur mean he agreed with you?

And I was agreeing with him.

On top of that he came through with the game winner that we all wanted him to take instead of doing his best Harden impersonation like usual. Jaylen was amazing in the first half, but I can't give it to him after turning into Westbrook with the turnovers especially late in the game. Marcus played a lot "smahter" in the 4th passing up a few 3's he would usually take for a drive or pass. Honorable mention to Semi for blowing my mind and scoring over 10 points. Our defense is ass water, but we needed this win.

Look at that, he learned from his botched game-winner against the Pacers :D It helped that he had Griffin on him too, who didn't look like he could move his legs at all.

Tatum skated into 2nd in assist tonight after JB had been 2nd for our first 6. Smarts leads. While that's good for Jays trying to get teammates more involved that is sucky for everyone outside of them! Jays will be dead by midseason!

Good win but this is an issue. Only 16 FGA for Brown is a joke, especially when he can’t miss

Yeah that’s the annoying part about Stevens. Jaylen was hot, he should’ve kept feeding him. We probably would’ve blown them out.

We didn't see a blowout mainly because we couldn't get stops. Tatum came up with some good defensive plays to help get the W.

Entirely possible Brown leads the team in scoring with Tatum being more of a playmaker/decoy now. We'll see how the roles shift once Kemba comes back. But I'm glad he's making the most of his opportunities.

I mean to be fair the double teams have a lot to do with about half those assists. 3-4 of those are Tatum is doubled, and he passes it to Theis the guy they doubled off from who actually hit a three tonight and had a couple floaters rolling to the rim out of Tatum doubles.

That is important to Tatum's development, passing out of double teams. Because if he can do it teams wont double him as much.

That's exactly the point. Teams are throwing their entire defense at him. They aren't just making him pass out of the double, they are sitting on that pass. For him to be able to put it on the ground, split the double, read the defense, and make the right pass without turning it over? That's the kind of thing he needs to be able to do if we are going to talk about him as a top 10 player.

And it isn't just the assists or lack of turnovers. He was the catalyst for actual ball movement. Because when he makes that right pass, not only does it create scoring opportunities for his teammates, it puts us a step ahead of the defense, forcing them to rotate and recover -- two or three times on a good possession. When that ball is moving, it is going to find the shooters and the cutters and the easy baskets and get everyone into the flow.

I love his hot shooting games, but what we just saw was Tatum at his best.

He looked like a Tatum/Hayward hybrid today. That’s a scary, scary player.

This is just wrong. All field goal attempts are not created equal. **** all this iso nonsense we have been running. No, really. Don't care who it is. One guy being hot doesn't mean much if the rest of the team is sitting around cold. Move the damn ball and the looks will come for everyone.

Tatum was incredible all around, game winning shot.. Easy VC.

JB turned the ball over too much, but had a great shooting game, over 30 pts again, 4 asts which is above his average I think and hit maybe the biggest shot of the game. He misses that and we are cooked.

Shout out to Semi for a great little performance also. Three triples were huge. He deserves PT over Grant this year.

You could see Tatum's future in tonight's game.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

Nice win! Well too close but I’ll take em any way we can. Thought we could have gotten brown more touches in the 4th as he was on fire and couldn’t miss. Tatum 12 assists no turnovers- u love to see it.

No free throws for brown or jt is a concern tho. On to Toronto- they’ll be ready to play and need a win

Hayward is a great comp here. He is never rattled. Just plays calm. At a slower pace, but also with no hesitation. Does that make sense? Just makes the right read every time and then acts, like a computer or something.

Duncan had that same thing.

Yes, my take away from this game is pretty much lock step in line with Caves. Concur: to be of the same opinion or agree, or to coincide/happen at the same time

Oh for sure, I agree with all that. My only point was the attention the defense gives him has as much to do with the high assist numbers as they are a deterrent to assists. Its nice to see him handle that pressure so well.

Well we escaped with a win after giving up 120 points. The good: the Jays were fantastic tonight. Jayson gets the VC for the big plays down the stretch though. Brown has to be over 80% from midrange now. I don't care if it's 6 games. For Jaylen, that number makes no sense. Theis had a nice stretch in the 2nd half running the short roll(not sure why we don't do more of it honestly). Semi hit some 3's today. TT with the double double.

The bad: defense is pathetic and that's putting it nicely. It's comically bad at this point. Were in the bottom 3rd of the league in Def Rating so far. 3rd worst overall in OppFG%, teams are shooting 71% from 5 ft and in against us. That is good for league-worst. And these are stats that adding Kemba Walker back won't sure. Our depth is **** but we knew that going in with a short camp. Danny has to use that TPE at the deadline and bring in some wing depth.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

While it's becoming clear that Tatum is showing good vision off double teams, the onus will be on guys like Semi, Theis, and Others to hit their shots. This increase in skill set really helps Ainge and Brad find the right puzzle pieces to fit, and calls to play. Someone like Pritchard will hopefully get some open looks, because he can already knock them down.

Tatum’s play making is what we will need from him moving forward without kemba. I don’t mean he doesn’t need to score but he needs to continue to be poised and make the right reads and get others going. Have zero turnovers is tough and hard with as many touches as he gets but very impressive today from him

Theis was 7 out of 8 tonight, which is nice to see given that think he's looked pretty lost on offense the first few games. Even hit a three!

Still not a fan of two big lineup, it just feels like its just unlikely to work against anybody with decent wing play. I get why they are doing it, they lack wings and want to get Time Lord playing time. But it feels like this may have to go and soon. You can't just handicap yourself for 6 minutes at the start of each half.

Will be interesting to see if they stick with it how they do against Toronto on Monday. With Lowry, FVV, OG an Siakam there's no second big to hide Theis on.
