Nets shooting 50+ and 48+ from FG and 3 and WAS shooting 40 and 36 YET WAS are winning ATM. how??

Well the Nets are fouling every time down. Westbrook is an elite tank commander though the Nets just took the lead

If only we could somehow get Beal to play with the Jays...

Agreed.

It's not just Westbrook and Beal, they have some very nice pieces in Bertrans, Hashimura, Bryant. Hey, even Ish Smith off the bench is pretty solid.

That should be a playoff team in the West, nevermind in the East. They'll be fine.

They were 0-5 with Westbrook this year man. They can score with the best of them but their defense is ass

Westbrook made that harder than it should have been. Wizards should have been going at Kyrie everytime. There was one possession where Russ chose to post up TLC even though Beal had Kyrie sealed down low. Lol

I love Westbrook’s attitude towards opponents and how hard he plays, but I wouldn’t take him for free.

Wall is so much better than Westbrook but if your team sucks, I think Westbrook is better, he can carry by himself and playmake for crappy players. But on a good team, he just soaks up way too many awful possessions and he's incapable of not taking 25 shots a game. But also Wall is probably going to break down again this year, no way he is playing a full healthy season after two years off.

Memo sent: Steph Curry is still good at basketball. 62 points on 31 shots in a double-digit win vs. Blazers. Jeeeez.

I didn't watch the game, but I wonder how many of Steph's 60+ came on getting Kanter off the switch...

OK seems like many posters on here have NO Idea how coaches can make or kill a player's confidence.

So here is an example. The NYK have sucked for ever? They get a New coach (Thibs) and are very lean on talent. They have Julius Randle, who most would agree, has not been living up to any High expectations in the NBA he had. But Thibs is forced to try something with what he has. And he has decided to run his offense through Randle. (even more so since their rookie lottery pick is out)

Randle's response. 28 pts 17 rbs 9 asts and a victory on the Road. One game, you may ask. Randle is averaging 21 pts, 10.2 rbs and 7 asts through 7 games. Still while shooting a very amazing 49+50% from FG and 3.

Of course this is a small sample size and probably won't hold up. But it should be a fact or near fact that players when given "more opportunity" and a TRUE green light, they play better.

Just look at our own Tatum. J Brown. Less "stars" to share the ball with and they are destroying. Might say the same for Rozier as well. Look what Stevens did for IT, when IT spent most of his career as backup-no one special player. But when Stevens gave him FULL control and confidence, he damn near became a top 3 MVP candidate that year.

The flip side can also occur. Especially with young players. A young player misses a shot, or a rotation, boom, the coach takes him out. very few players can excel with that type of situation. Only after Real opportunity comes, can a player grow.

Miami proved last year, if you give a player, even a rookie, some real opportunity, and LET HIM GROW. the team will be rewarded in the long term.

Why Brad Stevens continues NOT to see that is mind-boggling to me. (see Timelord and Nesmith)
