Re: James Wiseman
he's been completely unplayable, and I'm actually lower on him now as a prospect than even before the draft. rebounding instincts not as good as I previously thought, soft in the box, hands are terrible. the hands and softness are kinda a big one.

He's been better than I thought offensively, but I knew his lateral quickness would be a big liability on defense. He's still one of the top 5 players in this draft with Ball, Hali, Deni, and Edwards

Agree with most of this. I’m higher on him because he’s a better shooter already than I thought. Most of the other stuff doesn’t surprise me except that his hands suck. Wasn’t expecting that to be an issue. He’ll obviously improve defensively, just not sure how much time it will take and if he’ll ever get to a All-Defense type of level. Probably not.

Re: James Wiseman
Based on how he moves on the floor my comp was better IQ Whiteside or Drummond without rebounding but with shooting which are still good players
I thought he would be a better rebounder, that's been disappointing

those things were all there pre-draft, his bad timing for lobs, bad hands/feel for off-ball play etc
he is just really overrated as an athlete, was still valauble as a pick cause he will net you something good due to perceived upside/allure around the league, you can trade him for a top10 2021 pick almost guaranteed (that was my main reasoning to have him ranked 7th)

If they can get a lottery pick for 2021 draft I would do it
2021 has a lot of two way forwards and GS could definitely use 1 or 2 of those and they would probably start immediately

Re: James Wiseman
When is the last time a top 3 pick was traded for a top 5 pick straight up the next year? Can't think of one.

Re: James Wiseman
not gonna happen
if there is a trade to be had, and i proposed this on the Warriors board, it's a straight up deal: Wiggins/Wiseman for Barnes/Haliburton with Sac. that's something i'd pull the trigger on.

some of the worst takes I've ever read in here. Yikes. You do all realize he's 19 y/o...right? Embiid's 1st NBA game he was 22 y/o and only pulled down 8 rebounds a game. Wiseman barely played in college, there wasn't a usual training camp and offseason and he plays in a conference with lots of quality centers. By next season he will be so much better. In two season he'll be dominating and a top 5 center.

is Ayton a fair comp?
Ayton first 7 games: 16.9 pts / 10.0 rebs / 3.3 asts / 0.6 blks on 61.2%
Wiseman first 7 games: 11.4 pts / 6.3 rebs / 0.4 asts / 1.7 blks on 46.3%

Re: James Wiseman
I mean he just isnt that good of a basketball player. I never really saw the hype with him and 7 games in he is pretty much what I thought he was going to be. He just has zero feel for the game on either side. His timing with pretty much everything is just bad.
Then you throw in today's style of play, cool lets say he becomes Andre Drummond, okay... Was that really worth a top 2 pick in the draft? Ive said it many times, drafting bigs early in the draft or paying bigs big money is like drafting RBs early or paying them big money. 95% of the time its just not worth it. Now ya if you get a freak RB like a Derrick Henry/Cook then ya its worth it. Just like a freak big like an AD or Jokic, its worth it. But those guys are just so freaking rare.
There was nothing about Wiseman's game pre draft that made me believe he had any chance of becoming one of those rare freak talented bigs. So far he hasnt shown anything that would make me hesitate my initial thoughts on him.
Cant say it enough, he is drastically missing any kind of natural feel for the game. Dont see that changing anytime soon.

Wiseman at his best in College or HS wasn't anything close to Embiid. Embiid was a beast a collage being compared to Hakeem. Wiseman has had question marks going back to HS.
