Money being equal, why would Serge re-sign here over LAC if he wanted to try to win another title?

Also, who is saying a lottery pick guarantees a championship? There is no perfect method, it's about building up assets so you have the best opportunity to build something sustainable.

lol I think people just hate the word tank and assume you want the 1st pick and thats the end of your solution. Might need to create a thread titled "Rebuild the Raptors Asset Base" in the future.

It's true, but RRABWO just isn't as catchy.

Honestly though, I think the same people would say basically the same thing as they already have. Maybe with a few less insults though.

Perfect year to tank. No fans. Playing in a different city. Team has only 1 win. I think the writing is on the wall. Smart move is to trade vets.

We are 1-5 and they don't compete hard enough.

It doesn't look like a retool will be enough.... I guess it's time to ship Lowry and rebuild.

Where do I sign up?

Plenty of room left on board. Its going to be exciting once the first trade is made and we can truly deep dive on the lotto prospects.

No Harden trade is coming at this point. We're also going to be in a massive hole in a few weeks anyway (think 10 games under .500). It's TWO or bust.

Are the guys in the top 5 NBA ready or gonna need time? I haven't looked up anyone in this years draft.

Gonna be equally exciting to see who's on board and supporting those picks when the reality hits and they have to play in the nba.

I'm open-minded about a short rebuild too....but I've seen this play out a million times. College guys getting ppl frothing at the mouth when less than 25% of the top 10 picks become perennial allstar players.

And here is the end of the movie if we don't win the 1 in 4 odds: we didnt draft well.

This. Plus a good free agent acquisition like oladipo.

Need to unload norm, og, Lowry at minimum...let scrubs baynes and len expire after year end.

This is why you don't take half measures and bet the house on one or two guys. Build up the asset base enough and any disappointments are short lived.

every1 sayin suggs is nba ready, he is lookin like #1 despite majority saying Cade. In my opinion, Cade is either bust or superstar material, reminds me of dwade. then you have suggs who is gonna be a superstar (similar path to doncic) or a perennial allstar (like demar)

The top kids in the draft all looking real good. Getting a top 5 pick this year would do wonders for the future of this franchise. This is just one year and it's a blip in the grand scheme of things. No one's going to fret about this year in the future when our lottery pick is lighting it up and the team starts winning again back in Toronto. Being in Tampa Bay during a pandemic helps. Really short term pain in a throw away year for long term gain.

Bottom 3 teams each have the same percent chance at #1 so we're good
