I’d rather let Stewart develop this year and see what we have with h8m. He looks like he is still a while off playing meaningful minutes even though I liked what I saw from him in preseason.

Christian Wood doing Christian Wood things last night. He put up 31 pts, 13 rebounds, 3 assists in his Rockets debut. Another day at the office for C Wood. I'll never understand how we let this guy go. He is a legit #1 or #2 option and much better than the guy we gave even more money to Jerami Grant

I like C Wood a lot but to say he is a first option on a contender. It’s a stretch to say that. I’d say more a 2 or realistically a three option. Centers who run, shoot, and play d are super valuable in today’s game. I am still trying to see how Grant is worth more than Wood. It’s typical Gores to give up a good player for nothing to over pay a lesser player. I’d love to see this team with Wood and Drummond on the court as the starting 4 & 5.

Regardless, I'm happy Andre is gone. E for effort. Empty stats. Wood can do much more and we let him go. Just crazy.

I would be fine if we could trade for Mo Bamba. I don't think he has a place in Orlando and I still like his potential a lot. And he has not been bad when he has played.
He has a very good defensive rate and if he improves his 3 point shot some more he could be a very good player, not as good as Wood tho.

The question becomes what would Bamba cost? I’m not giving up a first for him. I don’t think that we have any seconds left. Would SVI for Bamba make sense?

If we wait until the offseason, we could make a push for Bobby Portis or Harry Giles.

The only trades I’d like to see this year are us trading away better players for worse players and picks.

Bobby Portis, ugh no thanks. We just signed Plumlee to block Stewart. Don’t need another big next year to keep Stewart from the floor.

Re: Trade for starting Center?
Assuming we got Portis (for arguments sake), I’d envision the depth chart being:
C - Portis (28 minutes per) / Stewart (15-20 minutes per) / Plumlee (spot minutes + whatever is left)
C - Portis (28 minutes per) / Stewart (15-20 minutes per) / Plumlee (spot minutes + whatever is left)

We can’t pay Plumlee what we did to have him ride the bench. It would make Weaver look like a complete fool. Portis is just a younger Plumlee at this point from a Pistons perspective.

Portis is on his 4th team in the last 4 years. I really don't understand why on this board the mediocre guy we don't have is going to be longed for more than the mediocre one we do.

That's because there are people on this board who believe a championship team is built by constantly attempting to upgrade every position, even if it's just making a change for the sake of change.

Re: Trade for starting Center?
Portis >> Plumlee
He’s younger, more versatile scorer (has range out to 3-point land), and about equal defensively.
He’s not a star. But we’re not gonna add any stars via FA

Re: Trade for starting Center?
Fultz is out for the season with an ACL injury.
Does this open the door for a Rose/Bamba deal?
We get a young C with potential who isn’t getting much PT in Orlando.
They get a rental PG for the rest of this season and keeps their great start and eventual playoff run intact

Yet Plumlee played a key role on winning teams in Portland & Denver & has a rep for being a real pro.
Portis is on his 4th team in 4 years and has a bit of a rep for being difficult
