I'm no Trump supporter but wouldn't this be a "victory" in his book if he sabotaged Repubs (McConnel specifically) and was successful?

Perhaps if he did it in a subtle way, but the way he did it, this **** gonna be blamed on him. Be interesting to see whether it sticks or not.

You're right I think. It's just that it might also mean that if you cross me and I'll destroy you. He's probably running in 2024 so some republicans might try to stay on his good side to be in good favor with him because Biden will surely underwhelm voters these next few years which gives Trump a chance.

I think when NY gets done with him and if GA is serious about the investigation into the call that a convict can run for president. Never mind the fact age will come into play here. he is what 75 now so close to 80 when he is elected. BE honest the demographics of this country are changing we are just seeing the beginning of it. As the country changes so will our president. Ages will drop and people will want someone who represents them.
An 80 yr old white racist who lies is not going to be on the top of the list add to that a possible conviction or 5 from NY wont help him.
As a GA resident I am happy Kelly is out and hopefully Osoff won as I hate Purdue and had a running dialog with him over the crap the senate did not vote on. From reigning in the president to helping people who needed it. The senate sat on their asses. because of Mitch and with Kentucky being as bad as they are I can not see how they keep on reelecting him

Amen to all that.
It was hell the last 4 years and you guys came awfully close, unbelievably close to democracy going down. What that would have meant to the rest of us around the globe would have been too awful to even contemplate.
Stacey Abrams and the African American community deserves a lot of praise for having a huge hand in saving your Jeffersonian democracy.
I have to laugh every time I hear someone talk about the Conman in chief running in 2024. He can hardly put a sentence together now and will be lucky to be breathing in 4 years, never mind running for office again. He's done, the walls are caving in on him.
The thought of Mitch McConnell becoming the minority leader in the Senate and now unable to block everything that falls on his desk for the big money interest, makes me hope that maybe, just maybe, things will get done now.

Well, since Trump never admits losing or being wrong, he and his camp will push a narrative that this was part of the plan.
It doesn't feel like it to me. It felt like Trump, who never has impulse control, doing what he wants to do, in spite of consequences to others (in this case the Republican party\the effort in Georgia)
It does continue the split in the party, which is a real thing and Trump & Co were obviously looking to be power brokers - and would have been no matter what - after Biden finishes stealing the election (lolz)
So, there are legit political purposes for trying to be the "power broker" since Trump could theoretically run again, or one of his ignorant children, or if they view themselves and supporters as a kind of movement within the party, then have influence that way. All that is legitimate political thing.
Of course, many people point to and suspect this is Trump & his family's way of monetizing politics, by being able to "campaign/rally" for another 4 years - not coincidentally the part the two parts of politics Trump loves - the adulation of crowds and the grifting of money.
Obviously this schism formed in the republican party and that can be seen in that Arizona tweet, where now they are trying to stake out being the party of "The Working Class", which is hilarious, if it wasn't so sad and frightening.
Maybe it'll get the Democrats to counter and get them to start pretending like they give an actual f*ck about the working class and over time both of these false postures could have the effect of both parties ACTUALLY giving a f*ck about the working class.

Today is a good day for those who actually love democracy
Those who yell the loudest about loving democracy but wanted Republicans to be able to obstruct everything and not even hold votes in the Senate are frauds at worst, incredibly naive at best.

Looks like it’s still in recount territory at 0.4%. Would be nice to pass the 0.5% recount threshold. Not that the recount would impact anything, would be nice to not delay the inevitable.

hey... it'd be one thing if they actually won, as trump did in 2016. but now it's an affront to the process because they live in a world where it's unfathomable that they are indeed not the majority they thought. it's amazing.
participation and engagement was so key here. but now the losers want to undermine the entirety of the process in an unprecedented way... which is just one of many reasons they never should have been let in the door in the first place.

I am with you 100 percent from being a minority that has faced discrimination to serving in the Army to see the changes that have been made, then I think about my parents who have seen it worse. I just talked to my father I thought I was going to break down just seeing his reaction of these changes not for him but for his grandkids

GA represent. After living in Texas for around 20 years before I moved over here, and not having a single vote that counted/mattered, it feels good.
