I'll remain optimistic with Bagley but I'm not blind. Year two leap Fox >>> Bagley
One year later and sadly this still rings true.

Yep he had multiple possessions today where he should have used his right hand. But 3 years in he is still very left hand dominant. He should have improved in that area by now. The lack of improvement is very disconcerting as is his lack of maturity getting away from his dad.

It’s funny how RH players get a pass on this.
While he should have shown more progress with this I agree, (he isn’t 3 years in BTW, for that wait until the end of the season) compare him with a player in the NBA that has a similar amount of court time from HS to NCAA to NBA. I bet all of them have a hard time scoring, and or, have an arsenal of moves with both hands. Not one would.

Bagley will become a really good NBA player with a lot of work, but if his dad wants to yap like he is, then it’s not going to end well for MB. Teams talk, players talk. Even look at Lavar, he shuts up and lets the kids do their work and they’re improving. Go figure.

Side note, this means the Kings effectively have 2 players that want out due to Luke Walton.
I don’t get the feeling McNair is a fan either and wants to start fresh, maybe it’s more of the latter, but expect a change sooner than later. When I say that, it’s not in the coming weeks, but by trade deadline, if the Kings aren’t in a good position LW is gone IMO.

Teams are already talking and he isn’t highly thought of.

The biggest reason Marvin Bagley hasn't earned the right to close games.

So to cut through all the razzing and negative takes- deserved in terms of defense obviously- I thought it was telling how Kayte Christensen approached this in her prepared remarks for Kings TV. Huge caveat that this is the team's official media outlet circulating this, Christensen is pretty deeply connected to many prior years of poorly managed Kings basketball, and I have no idea how independent her opening reprimand for Bagley and other young players was. It could be just carrying water for the team, making things worse in the end. But the closing message about how difficult this situation could be for a player really hit home, and Kayte would know. She herself struggled to establish a successful role in the WNBA and was out of the league within 6 years, playing much fewer games in her final two seasons before focusing on the broadcast career she had already begun several years earlier. Kyle Draper is a homer obviously, and the "wait and see" apologism is precisely how this team will stay never taking the next step. But yes, it must be hard to be Bagley right now when you are starting to understand that you will not succeed in this league after all the hype and expectations. Very humbling moment, and Kayte spoke with helpful wisdom and clarity I thought. Bagley should check in with Kayte maybe about this. She seems to know what she's talking about on the player's experience of realizing significant, possibly career-ending limitations in professional sports. On the other hand, this could be adding fuel to the fire if Christensen has no credibility with Bagley and his representation, or others in the league. No idea.

Salaries don't quite match, but add Jabari Parker's expiring contract to ORL and they do.

Me too, it will be good to watch the Kings without thinking of what might have been with Doncic

Get rid of him. Usually id say stick with the 1/4 a chance he will be worth the headache, but now him/his camp are putting themselves ahead of the team/community.

I’m assuming you can get some solid value

Bagley was never made for the city. Fox/Haliburton etc from the time they were predraft prospects had love for being drafted here. Bagley just wanted to be drafted as high as possible

I still remember at his draft conference, saying he was happy that he knew where he was going to spend, to paraphrase, the first years of his career. That’s not repping anything

Besides he’s a hole on the unit. If they are trying to win he needs to be removed so we can see the smaller units.

And if they aren’t trading Buddy/Barnes, someone gotta go so they can be in position to sign Holmes if they choose to

No reason to trade him now. Let him try to work it out this year or drive us towards a better draft pick.

For lack of a better saying - This guy has no balls. If he had even an ounce of dignity he would immediately come out and say my Dad doesn't speak for me. But clearly his dad is speaking for him and he just doesn't want to get fined. So sad as I had such high hopes for him. Now i'm over it. Out of control play, black hole on offense, distraction to the team. I'm praying we can swap him for someone like Lauri and be done with it.

Now that’s the most irresponsible thing. The team already accepted his option for next season. They need to work out whatever they can with Bagley. At the very least, they need him to stay quiet and respectful while playing as hard as he can.

this guy was an obviously bust from day 1. a big who can not defend for his life and has no other skills. his only "skill" was his motor wtf show me a car that drives only with a motor. he can not shoot or pass or dribble or create something for himself or other teammates. his motor did not help to improve in any part of his game... also he is soft on court but has a big mouth outside and is a locker room cancer now.

"Out of all PF and Centers in the league that has plays at least 20 MPG (58 qualified players), Bagley is ranked:

58/58 in eFG%

58/58 in TS%

15/58 in TRB%

53/58 in AST%

48/58 in STL%

47/58 in BLK%

22/58 in TOV%

4/58 in Usage Rate

57/58 in Offensive Ratings

47/58 in Defensive Ratings

58/58 in Offensive Win Shares

53/58 in Defensive Win Shares

1/58 in Quickest Double Jumps

To summarize, nothing he has done has helped with winning game. He's dead last in all shooting stats and the least efficient player. He does not create for others. He does not play defense, ranking in the bottom 20%+ all defensive stats. His usage is 4th highest despite how poor he has been playing. The good news is his double jump is still quick."

it was such a kangz move. and everyone with eyes knew it. thx vlade, now lets have fun with the next decade without po`s. but I'm happy that Luka found a professional franchise, no player with talent deserves the kings. hope Fox finds his way out
