Call me delusional, but "I like this team."

I realize they're likely going to struggle and that we may be on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs this year.

...but maybe not.

Either way, I don't care.

You can point to the competition and say the Magic have had it easy, whatever... But what I've seen from these players through eight games makes me proud to call myself a Magic fan. Not that I need to feel proud to be a fan.

This group of guys has been my favorite since before the late 2010 trades and I'll be damned if this latest round of injuries changes my enjoyment and appreciation for what we have now.

We knew we weren't going to make much headway without Isaac this season anyway.

And do you think JI and Fultz are going to be down on themselves and give up? No, they're going to work and stay positive and aim to be better then before. That's all we can ask for.

Imagine if they looked at it like some are here saying "I'm cursed" and "we suck again!" It doesn't do anyone any good. It's your choice to look at it that way, but I ask you: do you like feeling like crap?

Gordon, Ross and Vooch look fantastic and the new guys are producing.

Let's go, Magic!

Agree with you. I suffered that 1-18 start of the season as well as the heartbreak of trading away Tmac.. i suffered that dwight mare saga as well as the treadmill era of henny-weham. Im.not down on this.. i wann see them fight it out and if we end up in yhe driver seat of the suggs-cade-green tank war instead of the PO then all the better

I don't know how much more I can endure being a fan of this team. Blow it all up.

I am just here to offer my condolences. I am really sorry guys. He was just turning it around and I was really rooting for him.

This really sucks and I hope for a speedy recovery.

I have resisted but now I'm ready to join the "tear it down and rebuild again" club.
Trade our older guys who deserve to be on winning teams. Get as much value for them as we can.
Develop the younger guys and see who works out.
Time to forget about the playoffs.
We don't need heroes, we need first round draft fun-tickets.

Is it just me or does it seem like torn ACL's are happening at a much higher rate the last few years than ever before in sports?

Work loud and pace, and esnecially being overtrained all the time.

Compare of nba teams from 2003 to today. Those guys run, jump way more. More time you do something in full speed- greater chance of injury.
On top of that they are getting heavy, probably due all not so legal substances they use to support muscle mass.
today freaking 6'2 PGs weight 215 pounds. In past some guards were 6'5 and weighted 190-195 ( Hamilton, Ray Allen, Michael Redd...)

Still waiting for there being serious discussions about work load on players by the NBA.

But ho hum, bread and circus...bread and circus.

The kid doesn't deserve this, this one really hurts.

At least he was lucky and signed his extension before this, so he is good in terms of money for his life.

Yes, especially forcing the players to play 72 games in a condensed schedule without proper summer and training camps. I predict NBA will have a lot of injuries this year, that's just the beginning.

Why not 56 games like NHL did? Why force 72 games? Best NHL players usually plays around 20-25mpg and in the NBA more than 30, makes no sense to risk the final "product". What's the whole point of having 2 back-2-back games against Wizards without any attendance at all?

Horrible for the young man. Hope he makes a speedy and full recovery.

Both of our most promising young players out with serious knee injuries, wow. The hits just keep coming.

Hope WeHam commits to the tank for the rest of the season, but I highly doubt it.

The Orlando Magic - where left knees come to die.

Feel awful for Markelle, he's had awful luck with injuries. Hopefully Cole shows out as a starter. I wonder if this will now force the FO to change direction for the season and sell off some vets. At 6-2 I doubt it and expect them to use the injury exception on a vet PG (not that I know who's available).

because "the show must go on" and there's too much corporate interest at stake --- hubris of the highest level for years on end is now starting to bite back, the chickens have started to come home to roost, so to speak.

I still dont think that will change anything yet, it'll take another (before anyone goes all QQ on me, I obviously would abhor this to happen) few high profile ACL tears / big injuries to happen in a short time for exampole KD / Steph to go down again this year for there to be any shred of discussion...and if there is one...it'll be the players driving/forcing the issue...

It is weird that Fultz and I now share something in common (we lack a left-leg ACL).

Tore mine about 18 months ago, and my left knee still aches 100% of the time.

Yes in that players are ever increasing their performance taking their bodies to limits of capacity.
And as leg injuries are not head injuries, it is unlikely the NBA will make rule changes.

Trainers do need to get a lot better at teaching form and technique.

Rest is for +28 years old players. Not for teens.
Injuries happen, acl is non contact injury as result of hyperexstension of knee. It's impossible to prevent it, happends in seconds.
