Kind of weird that he took it to that extreme but 1 game doesn't erase the fact that he is somebody that has no weaknesses except free throw shooting. The Pistons will need him or someone like him to even compete on the same floor with Giannis/Davis/Jokic/Bam, etc...

That being said: I still take Cade at #1 because we'll need as many playmakers as possible due to the weaknesses of the current team.

At 2, I'd still probably take Mobley.

I'm thinking my big board at the end of the college season will be.

Cade
Suggs
Green
Mobley
Kuminga

Hes probably gonna be something like a Jaren Jackson Jr. Which obviously we want but we really need that big go to scoring star out of this draft, CADE!!!!!

I'm really not interested in taking a big man when potential superstar guards and wings are on the board. I havent watched all of Mobleys games but in the passed twoI'm not seeing once a decade big or anything. Cade/Suggs/Kuminga/Green all have profiles of what could be superstars at the next level. Obv we have to see more of the Gleaguers but that potential is there for sure.

https://clutchpoints.com/cade-cunningham-is-the-easiest-no-1-nba-draft-pick-in-years/

The 2020 NBA draft class is already proving to have a few surprises, but there still doesn’t seem to be one guaranteed star. According to many experts, that is not the case for the 2021 draft. There are several top prospects that could and should become All-Stars. Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Green, and most notably Cade Cunningham may have all been the number one pick in the 2020 draft.

Rylan Stiles: So shifting into the 2021 NBA draft that everyone, including us, is talking about as a great draft. My top prospect is still without a doubt Cade Cunningham. I think that he gets even better when he gets to the NBA level. I think that the college game is not really suited for him so he can expand more at the NBA level. Is he still your number one prospect and has someone made it even close with Cade Cunningham?

Richard Stayman: Nobody’s made it close it’s going to be Cade. There’s no chance I change number one. I think he’s the easiest lock of a number one pick we’ve seen in years. Zion was a pretty early lock, but I think Cade is the more of a lock.

The number two spot though, is wide open, especially with the G league not playing yet. I do think number two is going to be a big sweepstakes since there are about four guys I would put in there which are Jalen Suggs, Evan Mobley… Jalen Green, and Jonathan Kuminga, and you can even make the argument for Scotty Barnes from Florida State. So that’s five guys that have a real argument for the second or third-best player in the draft. It’s deep at the top, it is a very deep lottery class.

Suggs looks great in the first half. So fast, passes well, shoots well, plays defense and will dive for the ball.

Its really a coin flip with Cade who will be better in the NBA.

Cades 6'8 so hes always going to win that flip. Suggs is a nice prospect but hes only 6'3 and he doesnt shoot like Curry. That said if we get Suggs or Cade I'd be thrilled.

Suggs is so damn dynamic. I wouldn't look at his scoring numbers too much because Gonzaga really shares the ball a ton but man, and I keep saying it, he just has the "it" factor. The skills, the way he carries himself on the court. He's special IMO.

I could see Weaver being really big on Mobley due to his length and athleticism but he has yet to blow me away. You can see the tools are there but he's super skinny and the skillset is pretty raw. I don't know, I'm just not a fan of bigs in todays' NBA, not that high up in the draft. He could turn into a Chris Bosh level player but I don't see the aggression in his game that Bosh had in college.

Edit: and of course he has a beautiful put back dunk and immediate steal right after I type this. Thanks for making me look bad Evan haha

Even this early, I'd say there's about a 90% chance whoever picks first is taking Cade. If it's us, great, but if not, getting one of Suggs or Green should really be the priority. Even if we never win another game this year, the odds of picking top 3 are still only 50/50. We need some luck.

I know this is the 2020/21 prospects thread, but I just want to say, I think the best thing that could happen to this franchise is to somehow land the 1st pick the year Emoni Bates is in the draft.

From memory he's from Michigan, aka basically the Pistons version of the Cavs getting Lebron. It would be too perfect.

We just need to suck for 2 years, if we can get 2 top 5 picks in these upcoming drafts, our future will be very bright

Yeah hes from Michigan. Word is he should reclassify similar to what Kuminga did for this season(who was going to be next years top prospect but is now 4). So with some luck we could turn this around in a few years.

I fell asleep, looks like Ziaire had a triple double, Suggs did his two way ball thing and looking like Mobley finally did something.

That kid looks great too.

Cade, Suggs, Ziare Williams all look better than Anthony Edwards for example.

If those G-league guys really are the #2, #3 prospects, that makes 5 guys that would have gone 1 last draft.
