After tonight, we're tied for 10th best record in the league. Losing a first round pick in exchange for Oubre would add insult to injury.

Fultz and Isaac have torn ACLs, this is a lost season for the Magic. They need to tank. Oubre can be their tank commander. Fournier is the best approximation of Klay in the league. He's solid as a 3rd option and can defend at a solid level. BUT most importantly HE CAN SHOOOOOOOOOT and he's a smart player.
Tank? They are 6-3 and Cole Anthony doesn't look so bad as a Fultz replacement.
However I think they'd be OK with trading Fournier. He's a good shooter, he could help us. On the other hand I suspect his defense not so good.

Rudy Gay
Winslow
Ariza
Kyle Anderson?
Will Barton
James Johnson

Each of those will have a varying degree of price when it comes to assets though.

I like Kyle Anderson and Will Barton, but I doubt they are available for Oubre without attaching picks.

Mylie10 wrote:Right now no trade. Just move him to the bench. It balances the roster.

Then go use that DPE at the deadline to add a piece.

I lean towards this. He's a sunk cost, but trading him just adds more damage.
Just put him on the bench and make him work his ass out to earn his next contract.
He's always going to be motivated because of his contract situation.

Call me crazy but I like what he does. Some of the shot selection has been terrible but he's also had some bad luck. He plays superhard and with a lot of intensity. I think he helps us and will figure it out more as the season gets along.

Its not a hard concept.. if Curry is within your wingspan, you hit his man. Period. If I saw Curry walking down the street I'm screening anyone near him. It's gotta be a reflex

Just don't try and take a charge from Ayesha. That girl's been packing on the pounds. :D

Im with most everyone here. Its cuz he has tons of talent but its the IQ.

Im finding a hard time deciding who is worse as a Warrior: Oubre or Maggette

Think next game we’ll find out how low his IQ really is. If he comes out and plays like he did last night than there’s really no hope for him to figure it out

People should calm down. Yes, Oubre isn't a smart basketball player and that limits him but he's still much better than what he's shown thus far. We know that because he's been in the league for a couple years, and has played a lot better over longer stretches.

Compared to his last two years, his FTr is currently cut in half, he's shooting 20% worse on 3's and 4-5% worse on 3's. Heck, he only has half as many assists as before, too. That's bound to improve, law of the averages.

Will he be a fit then? Perhaps not. As I said, he's a poor decision maker and an erratic shooter. Still, he's clearly not as bad as he's been thus far and overreactions help nobody. It's still early, and everyone is still figuring things out. Wiggins has improved compared to the season start and so did Paschall (albeit in a new role). Wanamaker is slowly trending upwards and so will Oubre at some point. Then we'll see how he looks out there and draw conclusions.

I understand the frustration, and concerns, but what's the point of trying to get rid of him now? If we had a deal that helps us lined up, sure. But just for the sake of it? Nah, that'd just be poor management.

Actually I have another Idea. If not Satoranský then can we make a push for Lozno? Looks like a perfect fit next to Curry even if his offense is bad. At least he passes and his defense should be comparable to Oubre

I agree with this. He's not the smartest bball player, but he is long, athletic, and has some skills. He's playing way below his past production so he needs the time to work it out. And with this season being weird for all teams, I think the Warriors can be patient with this. I know that patience is impossible with fans. If teams reacted to every player underperforming by trading pronto, there would be a completely different team. If there is a trade possibility later that doesn't involve trading a future pick, I'd consider it. At this point, it looks like Oubre recognizes he's not playing well and pressing, but seems to be a good teammate, so you have to limit minutes when it counts and maybe tweak the rotation.

I’ve been super down on the guy but i have to admit that he’s still working hard on d. If he reverts back to his normal self this season is going to get real interesting. I’m enjoying my Wiggins crow at the moment. I’d love to follow that up with some Oubre crow

He's been stinking it up, but I do like the energy he brings. Would like to see him at the 4 more, next to Draymond or Paschall. And if his 3 point shot never returns, his role has to be significantly reduced.

He won't continue to be this bad on offense and it would be dumb to attach an asset to move him. It looks obvious to me that he is in a funk and pressing at the moment and I am glad that Kerr is being patient with him. We don't need him to do anything more than what he has throughout his career for him to a positive player on this team. Fickle fans...

Time for Kerr to pull some tools out of his Phil Jackson bag. Meditation, sage smudging, rebirth ceremony, anti curse, etc....
I like the intensity he brings on defense, but then he gets the steal and misses the layup. Dude is in his own head, big time.
He just needs a break out game or two.

I think the same. He plays under pressure to prove himself that he can be part of this team and he can gain a new contract. The start was bad and the pressure got bigger.
He cannot be such a bad shooter as he shows.
I think that he can be a quality role player if he finds his shooting.
But he needs to take a step back and take less shots for the current time.
And the team needs to give him only open shots, not give him the role to take decisions.

Kerr says that he will be patient with him
