Agreed. Of course if the NBA players get it before the general population it will be a PR nightmare for them. Problem is the vaccine for the general population may not be until midsummer.

Yeah. I'd argue that for the Fans sanity, and the Safety of the NBA, they need to get the Vaccines.
They are flying to different states almost every other night. This is unsafe.

This is getting even more bizarre. How can all these players be out there on the court with their hands and breath in such close proximity and yet only certain players go into quarantine protocol for, like, sitting near each other with masks on. Makes no sense. If the objective was a to contact trace we can be fairly sure that every guy stepping on the court came into at least some contact with everyone else on the floor at that time. The court gets treated like some purified zone, but it’s actually full of heavy breathing and sweat in close proximity.

Well if we get down to 8 players it will be interesting to see Brad look down to end of the bench, see Aaron Nesmith there, and then look over that the refs and say “we forfeit”.

well that is brutal. i'm thinking it's going to spread quickly. the nba should just shut down for 2 weeks and reset the covid clock. then whoever is covid free can keep playing. in a month or so they will have to do it again but they will get 10-15 games in before that. but this sort of staggered season (until vaccinations) keeps it kinda interesting.

Definitely a NYE outbreak IMO. Very predictable.

And the definition of "close contact" should be tightened up. Not sure of the NBA's exact guidelines, but CDC guidelines are at best designed to make contact tracing practical on a mass level.

Well that means he'll miss at least...

10th vs MIA
12th @ CHI
13th vs ORL
15th vs ORL
17th vs NYK

The next game after that is the 20th @ PHI but that would be the 12th day so hopefully he's back for that. Kemba is rumored to be returning the 15th vs ORL, that's also the same day the quarantine ends for Williams, Williams, Thompson so really the c's need to survive 3-5 games and then hopefully the team is back and healthy.

This **** sucks though, and it's likely gonna continue throughout the season. Just hope our players are responsible and are not needlessly exposing themselves to large groups of people.

I think it could be 8, depending on the clock start. Regardless, a brutal time to lose him. Need to get Kemba back ASAP.

The thing about saying they should go into a bubble is... there is no bubble to go into. Disney world is not prepared to take in the entire NBA on basically no notice. And even if they were, they aren't big enough for the whole league. That's why 8 teams weren't invited the first time. They were at max capacity with 24 teams.

Worst case scenario is the players (Tatum and others) end up having serious health issues. Nothing else really matters. Celtics will be fine and others will get a chance to play and show what they can do.

The main issue is everyone coming out of this healthy.
