Normal rational responsible behavior: Negotiate with the Pences.

Political problem: Going along to get along is part of the thing that people (a minority but not a tiny one) PERCEIVE as a threat to their quality of life and interests.

Reality: The American quality of life is declining to an extent and it’s not directly because of the clubbiness. But it’s the perception, and it’s not totally false either.

Reality part 2: Joe isn’t doing Pence any favors politically really. But, reality 3, Pence is probably ruined politically.

FN: Pence has a lot more political skill than Cruz, Paul, Rubio or maybe even Hawley. He’s talented as a communicator and what he projects. He’s like a top pick with a career-ending injury.

Pence will not be able to run for POTUS and if he can't do that his political life is probably over. He was not popular in his home state.

Hard to predict but I don’t see where his appeal would be. Not a Trump guy anymore somehow and not going to be easy to embrace for Lincoln Project folks.

You know what though, I think they will give him a look. Time heals, he did break with Trump, and he is a very talented pol who otherwise fits their ideal candidate.

That is not going to happen. He is not a talented politician. He was a flunky VP, nothing more.

It would be helpful if you understood how Pence was installed in the VP position by Manafort. Christie was Trump's choice for VP and Manafort changed that. Go look it up. Pence was looked upon favorably by the Kremlin due to (a) Pence's association with the Russian Orthodox Church which is a fascist organization aligned with Putin and (b) Pence's brother was a big player in Russian-American business relations at Caterpillar. They did massive business in Russia. Putin wanted sanctions lifted. Pence was installed by them for that purpose.

After 4 years of Trump dividing the country do you think it makes sense for a Biden to continue to divide the country? Also do you think the Democrats will be in power forever? Despite the pipe dream of a multi party system, the fact is that there are two parties and a government can’t function if one of those parties are always at odds with each other. The Republican QAnon party needs to be completely purged and replaced by another Republican Party or next time they’re in power the country is completely ****. And this can’t happen unless the political incentives for Republican politicians are changed

TheHill does a good job posting these Biden videos and then adding just one sentence in the entire conversation, just for the progressives on Twitter to go nuts so they can then talk about it on their platforms next week.

With that said, he's not going to simply denounce every single Republican at this moment. He still needs a lot of them, even with a 50/50 senate. He's gonna need them when it comes to confirmations, especially with no margin of error available. It's some political grandstanding.

I get Wingo's overall point though. I just think his message is directly to the Senate more than it is for the kooks in the House like Nestor's illegitimate father.

I just don’t think you put any attention on these ceremonies which are nothing. Pence participated in the Trump admin. He could have quit but he didn’t. Doesn’t matter that he pulled out so late. He is culpable but a ceremony is nothing. It’s for the country — it is about the T admin challenging the election with no basis. Pence was part of that.

The only way Trump should come to the inauguration is in a police car driving him out. **** Pence too but at least him coming to the inauguration shows a bigger picture to the rest of the world.
