Small general note - when healthy, with Gordon, Isaac, Bamba and even Birch, why do we never go for more lobs?

Why was bamba cleared to play tonight if he isn't playing? could use another floor spacer and rebounder out there?

Are you sure?

He’s only attempted 2 shots so far.

Also, he’s played 9 minutes with Bone playing 7. So clearly Cliff is going PG by committee. Foul trouble is not an issue.

He's certainly playing more restrained than I expected. He's probing, but reluctant to shoot in a crowd all the time. That offensive foul seemed to knock the wind out of his sails too.

This is by design IMO.

Clifford has repeatedly said the plan is to bring Anthony along at a measured, deliberate pace.

Give him a very clearly defined role and hold him accountable to that role. Once he masters that (which probably won't even be this year), then they'll gradually put more on his plate.

Not exactly the most exciting thing in the world for us as fans because we want to see them let the guy run wild, but Clifford is trying to avoid bad habits developing.

If we had a different coach, I'm almost positive that Anthony would be playing 35 MPG and getting up a ton more shots, which would almost certainly lead to the Magic losing a lot.

But Clifford is trying to win.

Because Gordon is back so Birch isn't needed to play backup PF. And Bamba is the third string C.

That's all there is to it. Bamba isn't going to play unless it's pure garbage time or there are multiple injuries.

Spacing is poor. Crowded in there for a clean cut/pass.

lobs are not really apart of a clifford mistake-free offense....only time you'll see a lob is either in a fast break situation or a broken play. Even though we have the athletes for it, clifford doesn't really want to run stuff like that......

Disagree with Turner on that one, letting Luka take difficult shots seems to be a way better option then having him find wide open shooters all over the place

That's a well laid out read on the situation, and I agree with it. That said, I do think there's enough freedom for Cole to get his shots up, they just have to be good shots and not come at the expense of disrupting the rest of the offense.

But yeah, MF101 is probs right that there are restraints on him compared to Maxey.

Exactly.

I understand that at the start of the season but given how things have unraveled ...

It feels we need to unleash Cole and let him be the player he is. Coach the bad habits out of him in film room but let him be the alpha scorer he is.

Tuning in to watch Luka tonight - why no Bamba? 22 year old can't play 15 minutes two nights in a row?

Clifford wants players to play their role in his offense....been saying it for a while now instead of creating an offense that fits his player's strengths he sets his offense first then tries to fit the players into their roles in that offense....it's an efficient way to go about it but the freedom is lacking and creativity is lacking

What's gonna happen if a chunk of our players get hit with covid/tracing outtages? We're already so depleted with injuries, do we go to the G-League squad?
