McDermott, McConnell, Lecque, Warren all out. we will be going deep into the bench. Sumner, Martin, and Jakarr may all see the court now.

Something neat to see here in the 3rd quarter was that Phoenix went ultra small for a run with just Saric as the only big man on the court, yet Nate went with Myles/Sabonis rather than quick pulling one guy to match up, the Pacers went on a run, and Monty had to make a sub earlier than he wanted and had to put Ayton back in, and keep Saric in to adjust. Saric was due to come out, and ran off the floor before being re-directed back onto the court.

It’s nice to have a coach dictate rather than just follow along.

Also, Brogdon is having a tough time with left handed wrap arounds tonight. Missed maybe 5 of them so far tonight...

And here early in the 4th, we’re seeing a lineup of Sumner, Stanley, Doug, Just, and Jakarr.

What a sad game to lose

Sabonis looked visibly exhausted. He committed at least one unforced turnover due to a silly pass. Brogdon played 39 minutes - this is not sustainable. Sumner and Stanley looked ok, in their minor cameos. Team went on a run with them on the floor, closing to within 2 points. New Nate has to develop them more, it's unacceptable that 7 players played the majority of the game. Start putting them in the 1st and 2nd quarter

Justin played great as usual. He bailed the team out on multiple possessions. If he isn't in the conversation for the 6moty award, he should be

We were +4 in the 2+ minutes that we played the bench of Sumner, Stanley, Doug, Justin, and Jakarr. Super small sample size so nothing to base the future on, but it forced Phoenix to sub a bit early, too. They should likely get another chance soon. Might be a bit easier in the 2nd or 3rd quarter to carve out some short runs for them.

Yes, they both held their own when they were both in the game together

I hope to see more of that 2nd unit lineup, perhaps with Goga in place of Sampson

I don't think it's going to happen though, especially once both Lamb and McConnell are back

Return to Indiana Pacers
