Objectively a good game for the Wolves. Got their #1 option back and they definitely looked better for it. But they need their own Draymond to account for his defense.. DLo created a little bit but had one of his patented FGA > PTS games.. Beasley went off too. Its kinda crazy actually - the Wolves backup C went nuts, Beasley went nuts, KAT had a great offensive game.. and they still didnt win

Glad Minny lost this one. With Towns back, they will be good enough to beat a few teams. So really needed this lost to pad the lost column.

KAT needs to come back ASAP so they are the 5th worst team instead of bottom 3.

He came back tonight and looked good doing it. I mean looked like he usually did - elite offensively, below average defensively. Wolves really need to focus on finding a complementary big to him. So much offensive talent. But you cant expect him to be elite offensively AND anchor a defense with so many turnstiles on the perimeter. He needs a Draymond, a Kirilenko.. maybe someone like Mikal Bridges? I dunno - but an impact defender at the 4 who can be the primary help defender

I think its more poor roster construction than anything. KAT is elite offensively but you cant expect him to be an offensive juggernaut and then turn around and anchor a defense that doesnt really have much going for them on the perimeter. They are just a pile of talent without a plan at this point, which works to our benefit now

I dont think DLo is necessarily holding them back as a team as much as the GM not understanding how to negate what KAT doesnt do well. Because imagine if KAT was given someone like Draymond as a teammate.. I think we'd be talking about him as a top 5 player in that case.

I'm getting pretty reluctant to take a victory lap with Wolves fans over this trade.

Nah, don't worry about it. We're used to this.

Frankly, it's a zero-sum game. I'm happy that you're happy.

So brutal.

All I can say is at least Anthony Edwards looked aggressive and talented tonight. He's not ready to run the offense but the instincts are there and it looks like he's taking defense seriously which is more than can be said for D'lo. If the offense shifts toward a Edwards/KAT focus what the hell is D'lo going to do all game?

Agreed. You need dirty working, glue guys around a supreme offensive talent like KAT. They have a bunch of young iso scorers around him in Dlo, Edwards, Culver and Beasley. Their bit part players aren't really effective role guys either. The roster needs a change. I thought the 1 guy that really could have helped them this season with a tough culture injection would have been James Johnson, but they thought adding another guard in Rubio would be the better idea in trade (With also adding in the draft rights to Poku going to OKC in the same deal, WTF?!). They just seem to not like targeting defensive types.

I'm not really sure what they are doing, but anyway, it's hard to be a really small market team.

DLo has been a lot better lately. Still not "good" but not "worst player i've ever seen" like he was for a 3 game stretch there. And the Wolves have gotten better at hiding him on D. He still has plenty of "turn your hips and escort the guy in for a dunk" and "lose your man then stand there and watch him shoot an open corner 3" moments. But at least it's not continuous like it had been.

And he's definitely had his moments where he's been good/great.

Oh yeah, that's the Dlo we know. He'll do some things that make you go "NICE!!", maybe even close a game out every now and then which further reinforces tat hope driven emotion. But then, someone shows you some box scores, advanced stats, and then the dreaded highlights (or lowlights in this case) that you had missed throughout games, and then his +/- of -27 every night starts making sense.

Still, he hit four 3's in a row last night in that loss, so maybe, just maybe........

Dlo is like that email you get from time to time from the Nigerian Prince, telling you that you've won $40,000,000 and he just needs your bank account details to transfer the funds into. You for sure know it's not real, but what if it isn't, I might just reply with my bank deets just in case......
