So maybe I should rethink my take on not grabbing a big early? 19/13/6blocks on only 7 shots. That rim protection is what really excites me.

Did we get the Raptors 2nd round pick this year from the Bruce Brown trade?

At the moment that looks like a high 2nd round pick

Good stuff.

Josh Jackson can have the 2
SAddiq can hold down the 3
Grant obviously has the 4 and Sekou can back him up

this team still need more than anything:
-IQ on the floor
-playmaking
-a big that can score

Its still Cade or Evan Mobley for me.
Cade can play 1-3 and Mobley can play 4 or 5.
Either of those guys will make this team tremendously better.

If they can't get Cade or Mobley, I say get a Moses Moody or Zaire Williams that can be an all-around two-way player. Can never have too many of those. Gotta see Jalen Green play organized ball before I'm sold on him. I wouldn't want to draft a glorified chucker/dunker no effect on winning.

Get a pg in the 2nd round (Ayo/Ayayi) and wait for Killian to come back with some fire to turn himself into the starting pg.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

am I the only one that thinks were gonna win meaningless games with our vets and miss out on a top 5 pick? I know the league is strong this year but we've had a tough start

That's why we need to lose so many games early it's ridiculous.

I think winning at a .200 clip is a pretty solid start to being in the bottom three teams at the end of the season. That's made this thread much more interesting.

The standings are going to be all over the place this year, primarily due to COVID.

We are playing both the Sixers and the Heat soon, and they are both missing their entire roster basically from COVID

Casey is the real MVP. He will put out lineups that will help the Pistons lose.

Plus both Svi and Josh Jackson forgot how to shoot, along with Blake.

We can still lose 8-) 8-) 8-)

Hopefully its with Frank Jackson/Saben Lee/Bey/Sekou/Syverdis/Stewart, but we can hope.

I'm concerned yes. We've beat the Celtics and Jazz already. We've started a bunch of games of awful but usually we fight back in them. Our coach is surely not trying to tank whatsoever.

This is why some of our offseason moves worried me. They werent commit to tanking this year moves. By far the most important thing for us this season and next year is get good draft picks. Nothing else matters. This season in particular being in the top 5 is very important.

Wizards, Grizzlies, Kings and Hornets won tonight, great for us. I don't know what's going on in Toronto thought, tough schedule I suppose.

Yeah we have their 2021 2nd round pick.

Slightly offsets the fact that we don't have our own 2nd round pick until 2027 (unless our 1st round pick doesn't convey to Houston by then, and then we lose that too haha).

What are you worried about exactly? They're 2-8 and still have a tough slate of games coming up even with some COVID ravaged rosters on the horizon.

I want them to get the highest draft pick possible too but there's nothing wrong with the coach trying to win games, that's his job. Not every coach is a loser like Doug Pederson who plays far worse players on purpose for a higher draft pick.

I'm not the biggest Casey fan but he's been giving minutes to the young players who deserve it. Bey has gotten more minutes as the season has progressed, Stewart more, Jackson more before he got injured, Okfaor and Sekou less, Svi depending on his shot falling, Hayes started every game. He's doing what any coach would do, reward the players who deserve it and bench the ones who don't.
A lot of the vets are playing down the stretch because, quite frankly, none of the young players outside of Bey have deserved to play down the stretch.

On another note, it would be an absolute misery if the team got blown out most nights. We all want the higher draft pick but I also want to see my favorite team be competitive most nights. So far, it's playing out as well as we could have hoped outside of the Hayes situation.
