They were down 50 at halftime, so I think they've got more problems than Kennard. Unless Luke has some long-term effects of last year's injury, there's no way he continues to play like that.

Luke averaging 8.5pts 3reb 1.6 assist 23mins is shooting 47% on those wide open 3s he gets.

Bey is averaging 10.4 ppg 5reb 1assist in 23mins and shooting 46% from 3.

Luke will never be a star guys. Hes just a role player who can nail open 3s. Hes getting way overpaid by the way.

We completely destroyed them on this trade.

But but but what about all those 2nd rounders?

Luke is clearly stunting Lou Will's development. :)

We gave up 4 second round picks, and those picks alone should be worth the #19 pick in a weak draft. We got luck that Bey fell into our lap at #19, that doesn't mean this wasn't a terrible trade.

We got completely destroyed in absolutely every trade we did this offseason.

Could that cost have been that high because Bey fell that far? I don't understand the "Pistons got lucky that Bey fell that far" concept. If Bey hadn't fallen that far and Pistons hadn't been high on him, why would they even make any trade to get the #19 pick?

This trade should get an A++ after the season is over.

We're lucky that Bey fell, and he looks like a solid first round pick? In a 'do-over' he'd likely go well before 19. I'm not sure you can reasonably call it a "terrible trade" at this point.

I still dont get the 4 2nd rounder thing. Is there any logical reasoning that has been explained for having to do that?

LAC pretended it was because of Luke's knees and being unable to medically check him out prior to making the trade since it was a draft night deal. Of course then they sign him to 15M AAV a year before the season starts.

Basically LAC had the leverage and used it.

SRP's are 2023-2026 Piston picks. Detroit shouldn't be so bad still that they're valuable. Detroit could probably purchase picks in the same range, and Kennard's 15M AAV vs Bey at 4M over the next four seasons is saving Pistons probably close to 40M a year in salary and only cost around $10M to purchase comparable SRP's in those drafts.

Yeah im not really all that upset about them as it seems they are always so easy to get on draft night anyways but just a wierd situation I couldn't understand on our side

Luke didnt even make the Clippers playoff rotation. So much for the Luke truthers who thought we had some kinda stud who was gonna go somewhere else and breakout.

It looks like the Clippers are paying a guaranteed $41 million for those four second round picks and a bench guy.

I was going to say that Kennard would enjoy a bigger role on a mid level team. On second thought, how much would he see the floor on this new Pistons team?

Happy then and happy now. KuKu dude on twitter loved him and stanley for that matter. Even if we got nothing, I'm glad he's gone and we don't have to pay for him. Didn't make a difference in detroit and isn't making a difference in cali.

Turns out this was a homerun of a deal. Always best to see how things turn out before passing judgment.

Would any team in the league say no to giving up 4 2nd round picks for Bey?

Of course not.
