With no Julius and Mitch, we might be the worst team in NBA history

Re: Knicks - Nuggets PG
Backcourt is just horrific. Throw in Bullock too.
In 2021 those guys combined for 5 three point attempts. Knicks offense looks no better than a college team. Teams are throwing a basic zone defense at them knowing those guys will NOT even attempt to shoot it, and if they do shoot it they will welcome it cause they suck at converting from 3.
I wanna see Knicks sign 2 three point specialist and insert them in the starting lineup. I don’t care if their defense is Kanter level, I just wanna see a modern nba offense.

Our starting lineup is a combined 45-149 from 3. That's 30.2%
If you take out Randle, who is our best shooter in the starting lineup (14/38, which is solid), we're 31-111. Which is just under 28%
The starters last year were 33.7%. We legit took the worst shooting team in the league last year and somehow made them worse.

BaF Lakers:
Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

With Thibs as the coach?
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.
Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3
We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

Definitely lack of talent. And lack of talent that fits together in a way that makes sense.

Re: Knicks - Nuggets PG
We’re just not that talented. Some here got duped by the 5-3 start and beating great teams. It is what it is.
On the bright side, we can start looking at those top 5 prospects again.
Julius is a 2nd option & needs that #1 to help carry the load.
RJ shot sucks right now but not enough to just give up on him. I mean, Fultz developed a shot. If dudes gave Frank 4 year & still giving Knox time, then the same patience should be shown with RJ. RJ averaging 17 and can’t shoot, imagine that. Right now he’s forced to be our 2nd option and Julius is forced to be 1st option. That’s the problem. RJ should be 3rd or 4th & should just focus on his shot and driving to the right. He might not be a player to build around but he can be one of the pieces around that player once we get him.
IQ is a combo guard and high energy player but to just throw “franchise PG” on him after the preseason was unfair. He needs development too. He’s going to have stinkers but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be trash. These young kids need time here. They can’t al be Ja, Luka, etc. Like RJ, he’s not a player to build around most likely but he’s a piece for that guy once we get him.
Mitch will be fine and we’re going to have to pay him after next season, so be it. We just have to make sure to sign quality guys this offseason before we go over the cap for Mitch. He’s also a piece.
Austin is fine for his salary and should be kept his whole contract.
Burks , we should keep building his stock this season & try to get a 1st for him by the deadline.
Gotta give Obi time.
Everyone else I think are lost causes.
Frank, DSJ, Payton, Bullocks, Noel & POSSIBLY Knox might be done here by season’s end. Disappointed in Knox. I think if he was good enough, he would at least push Bullocks out the starting lineup. I’m going to give him the full season.
Thibs doing a fine job coaching these guys up and we have to relax on getting beat by established playoff teams like the Nuggets.

Re: Knicks - Nuggets PG
Thibs had Quickley lighting it up at one point. What did he do? Let Elfrid hustle him into keeping the starting spot. Now Quickley looks awful. Knox WAS playing well defensively and shooting the ball well. Not anymore. Again, the starters run this sh*t show.

Said this all off season, by not upgrading the point guard you are just hindering the development of RJ..

We did upgrade. We got Randle his sidekick back.

he's an all-star right now. that point guard would have to be pretty good.
