Some guys have been totally exposed as clueless haters, right here in this thread...now hurry and edit your posts.

In my opinion theres a lot of trolling going on. Most of the hate is directed from a quite distinctive fan base, and its directed to a certain pool of players. Those players are the ones who dared to interfere with the career of the idol of the 1st mentioned group. If a player steps in his way and shows how limited he actually is, that player is being hated on with baseless accusations, personal attacks and narratives based on nothing really. Sounds familiar? Yep, we have the same in the big picture and i wouldnt be surprised to find overlaps in the respective groups of unconditional cult like followers.

Not particulary a fan of Steph, his personality isnt one i feel i can relate to but how would that matter? He is the greatest 3pt shooter this league has seen. He has changed the game. He has won three titles and has proven to be a real leader on the court, not just when the cameras and mics are on and he can pound his chest and mean mug and flex. He takes responsibility for losses, cant remember him throwing teammates under the bus or having them traded away. Cant remember him disrespecting his coach.

When all is said and done, Steph will be remembered. He left a mark on the game like very few before him. If you are active in coaching youth, you will know what i'm talking about.
Pray for Israel
Peace in Jerusalem

Fan of the game of Basketball, no matter the team, league or players. Opposed to all sorts of person cult and show/entertainment/marketing over substance.

It’s recency bias.

And recency bias is stronger than before because of social media.

Instagram, Twitter, etc. saturates feeds with recent news more than ever, so now only recent events are stuck in people’s minds which cause them to forget things from not too long ago.

I used to lurk RealGM in 2006 and started posting in 2010 and recency bias wasn’t ever this bad back in the day.

Steph Curry is the perfect example of this.

He was a Top 5 player, then got injured in 2019-2020 and only played 5 games.

Normally if this happens to a player, fans would just say “ohh so unfortunate, can’t wait to see him back for a full season and see him dominate again.”

BUT NOOOOOOO....... this is Steph Curry.

People had internal hate for Curry for YEARS when the Warriors were winning so much. Then the Warriors got KD and the hate multiplied in their minds. The Warriors lost the Finals in 2019 and these people were ecstatic, which is okay because the next part is where the recency bias and extra hate kicks in:

The Warriors lose KD and Klay is expected out for the beginning of 2019-2020.

Steph has a bad first four games.... these people go NUTS and have a damn ORGASM. THEY HAVE SOME AMMO TO HATE ON STEPH NOW!

“sTePh cAnT wiN wiThoUt KD aNd KlAy!!!”
“sTePh iS eXpOsEd!!!”

The haters flocked RealGM chanting and chanting and chanting.

Then Steph broke his hand. And it pissed them off because they wanted to see him “exposed” more.

“STePH iS fAkiNg iT!!!!!”

Then what they did was milk that 4-5 game sample size to slander him all season. Slander slander slander. Letting all the internal hate ooze out from their fingertips and onto their keyboard and phones. They let it all out. Slander threads everywhere. Milking those 4-5 games for all it got.

Then the bubble started and they slandered Steph more. Damian Lillard won the first game against the Lakers and people claimed Lillard was better than Steph.

Then the offseason came, and when haters got bored they made Steph slander threads. :o

Then Klay tore his Achilles. And what did the haters do? They slandered Steph more! They were excited because they were still milking that 4-5 game sample size with their recency bias and letting those 4-5 games rewrite Steph’s entire legacy.

Then Steph starts 2020-2021 0-2 on the road with a new team, and these haters have MULTIPLE ORGASMS.

Then they did the unbelievable, they combined the 5 game sample size from 2019-2020 with Steph’s first 2 games back after almost 300 days and used that 7 game sample to rewrite his whole career and created threads like this for all the Curry haters to unite and power each other up with their Anti-Steph posts. :o :o :o

Wow, people really hate Steph on RealGM lmaooooo.

Why would anyone compare how well Curry played when he was surrounded by all time great shooters and possibly the best player in the game? That only tells us that he's a great system player.

What happens when that system is devoid of it's otherworldly talent? We see Curry get dominated by 40 points and shoot terribly.

Regardless, even if there were an entire season of Curry shooting poorly and losing games, the stans would just say his team is bad, so why even pretend like you care about "sample sizes?"

Constant excuses for this little man-

"He's injured!"
"He's possibly still injured"
"Klay is not playing"
"Durant isn't playing"
"30 year old Dray is too old to play!"
"His gravity is being affected by Saturn!"
"Curry is getting doubled unlike any other star ever!"
"Curry looks like he's injured"

It's getting a tad bit embarrassing guys.

Some of these posts are down right embarrassing

You really wanted to unload all this ammo after 2 games?

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Curry is coming off a horrible game and a loss and now he's played a great game and a win.

Are you suggesting such a small sample size of him playing well should be considered?

Hes putting up 30 a night and has his team above water despite having a garbage roster. And he just did it against one of the best teams in the NBA.

This whole nonsense that you've been peddling for weeks that Curry was gonna get "exposed" and that he can't carry a team is pure garbage.

You thought you were vindicated after 2 games. Sike.

Grown men are really on the Internet writing full posts expressing hate for Steph Curry.

My post was directed at Curry fans actually. Curry is a top-6 player in today's NBA and has been for the last 7 years.

Nice emoji usage, grown men are really spamming emojis on a basketball forum.

A laughing emoji really has you in your feelings?

You took a victory lap after 2 games and now you look foolish.

Curry was never going to get "exposed" even with this terrible supporting cast.

A post that calls out curry supporters for making excuses has you in your feelings?

It's a troll topic if you hadn't noticed. It's all in good fun, I've repeatedly posted that Curry is a great player.

I find that Curry having a couple great games has you on a "victory lap"

The irony is pretty hilarious here

How am I in my feelings? Seems like you're projecting tbh.

I'm just pointing out how ridiculous your assertion was that Curry was "exposed" based on two games after a career of two MVPs, three titles and numerous statistical milestones.

Don't pretend you were trolling. You went on an entire rant and then tried defending it with several other posts.

Just take the L and move on bro.

If the belief is that Curry has consistently been a top 6 player over the last 7 years what exactly is he supposed to be exposed as?

At top 6 player? Even the premise makes no sense.

As someone who just discovered RealGM a few years ago (2018 or 2017 maybe?), I'm curious: do you feel like there is a trend nowadays towards hot-takes in comparison to the past? I honestly do wonder sometimes if this age of hyper-partisanship, social media, etc. really is infecting everyone's thinking. The sad part is that it's probably infecting my own thinking and I just can't see it, just like everyone else. It's honestly a fascinating thing to think about, but also depressing.

"Calling out steph curry fans" like he is on some kind of crusade or something is flat out pathetic. Much more so than using emojis which I dont even know why anybody who isnt insecure about something would even have a problem with.

As was pointed out to you, 7 games particularly playing with players mostly completely unfamiliar with him actually is a small sample size in comparison with the rest of Curry’s career and if you had any credibility you lose it ion calling same an excuse. If you go back 6 more games he was the lead player in beating both the Clippers despite GSW being beset with injuries.

You should perhaps look up the meaning of the word irony on a dictionary as well.

You guys get so aggressive towards posters with your defense of your boy. Yet give him a pass whenever he isn't up to it.

Curry fans are a very strange breed indeed.

No one is getting aggressive. You’re just being ignorant.

We’ve got Currys whole career to show he’s an elite player and you take 1 or 2 bad games to try show he’s not. Maybe take a look in the mirror before calling others out especially when hardly anyone agrees with you.

Curry stans never cease to amaze. Shooting 1/14 with 3 turnovers but 'playing great' lol. You guys look ridiculous because you just give him pass after pass after pass. If this was LeBron or Harden or KD or anyone else they would be crucified.
