It was a great game as our core played well , although I would have liked norm to play well to boost his trade value... and we lost a close one.

Pascal, Fred, boucher were great.... OG is still nowhere at the level expected on either ends..

Small ball lineup is clearly the best but I expect to see baynes/ len get some tank minutes against big slow centre's....

Let s get that top 5 pick... our future starting sg/sf!!

What's our % of being top 5?

Very top 5 heavy draft, any of Cade, Suggs, Green, Kuminga, and Mobley would be amazing. If I was to mock out how I want them it'd go

1. Cade
2. Kuminga
3. Suggs
4. Green
5. Mobley

Even ending up with 5 isn't horrible, Mobley projects as a modern day effective NBA C. Which is what our team is currently lacking

I think I have Suggs at 1 as of today. He looks like he'll be special, has all the tools and no weaknesses as far I can tell so far. Why do you like Cade & Kuminga more?

I'd probably rank them as of today (subject to change).

1. Suggs
2. Cade
3. Green
4. Kuminga
5. Mobley

Hello my friend ! I also used to be a big Suggs guy but he's fallen a bit on my list. Suggs from what I read is described as a 6'5 combo guard. I'm a little weary of being overhyped and then underwhelmed by Gonzaga players transition to the NBA. I just personally think that it's easier to build a team around both Cade and Kuminga over him. Both seem to have that killer mentality and size. If FVV is staying Cade would be the perfect fit next to him as a 6'8 PG

I mostly rely on player comparisons for this type of thing. Anyone care to comment on these? They seem to be the most popular ones made during a quick google search:

Suggs = Jason Kidd
Kuminga = Pascal Siakam
Cade = Grant Hill
Mobley = Taj Gibson
Green = Kobe

I like some of these comparisons not all. Also think Green has a young Kobe athleticism to him. Suggs I hear alot of comparison to a healthy Brandon Roy, Kuminga Is like Siakam if Siakam had a jumper starting at age 18 lol.

I personally prefer the comparison to Cade as more of a Ben Simmons type. Only difference is Cade can shoot, but his defence isn't as highly touted. Cade I think will be able to guard 1-4 in the NBA

I know you said more play style than quality, but Taj Gibson is highllllllly underselling Mobley. I see a baby AD when he plays. Incredible length and shot blocking, can stretch the floor and has at least the base of a post/face up game. Maybe not an elite athlete, but super fluid and moves really well.

I think Kuminga gets the Siakam comparison only because he is African. Kuminga has way more power and explosiveness to his game than Siakam. I'd say he looks more like Aaron Gordon.

I can see the Grant Hill comparison for Cade, although from what I've seen/heard he isn't that level athlete. I think more of a Brandon Roy type.

Suggs isn't an elite playmaker on the level of Kidd (although he is good, no doubt), but I think he has more to his offensive game in terms of outside shooting and getting to the rim. I kind of see some John Wall in him, but again it doesn't seem he is on that level athletically. He is kind of tough to compare though, because he has a lot of pieces of all the top level PGs in the league right now.

Green I don't know much about. Even for these other 4 my analysis is fairly limited, but hope this helps some.

Isn't Ben Simmons with a jump shot basically Grant Hill? Offensively at least.

Man if he improves his handle even a little bit he’d be unstoppable. It’s looking a bit sloppy at times right now.

He seems to have sneaky athleticism kinda like luka.

I haven't read this thread through in its entirety for fear of contamination by loser mentality. However, I wanted to point out that if covid continues to escalate, and if league play was suspended for an extended period, the NBA might get into a conversation about resuming play (with playoffs.. Foregoing remainder of regular season..).
In this scenario the raptors could be near the top of lottery odds. Raptors could benefit greatly in a minimally painful way - - aside from virus rampaging the globe...

Funny because his college coach shows him tape of Luka. That's his player comp over there.

A Dame/CJ backcourt isn't good enough to win a championship, yet people are trying to invest in a old man Lowry/FVV/Flynn back court. It's a good thing the Raptors have no dynamic wings and a complete 0 at centre outside of Boucher as well.

Hand us that L Portland!

Yeah that’s smart by his coach. They both play at their own pace and use their strength on mismatches to get to their spots. Lukas handle is way tighter, quicker and more fluid tho. If Cade can get that...at 6ft 8, it’s game over.

I think my hairline might come back if the Raptors can get Cade.

Damn.. hes crafty. I can definitely see him being a top player at the next level when he puts it all together.

You know the man is real and excellent passer at his size look at that bounce pass perfectly in place at 1:43 mark.

Lol yeah that shot was impressive. He obviously shows flashes. I’m just saying he needs to do it consistently.

Cade even has a post game... wow

I just need to see his defense but I think he's crafty enough and can get more explosive with some NBA training like Tatum. Cade has a high bball IQ, the whole offensive package and size.

Thats my top pick so far but I guess we'll have a better idea later in the season..

Decent comparisons I guess in terms of style. Suggs looks more like Kidd with a smooth jump shot, maybe more athletic too at the same age. I'm not quite old enough to remember young Kidd though.
