We're currently on pace to win 50. But even if we only won 40-42, in a 72 game season that's enough to make the playoffs. I don't know if we are championship contenders or not, but we are definitely a playoff team.

also, at the very minimum, we're playing better than we did last season around this time if there weren't injuries or suspensions. Last year if we had kept our whole team intact and healthy, we would have been a 40 win club easily, and in the playoffs.

There’s only so much you can do for a guy who can’t consistently create his own offense. He doesn’t look to score. Obviously I want to see him scoring more, but most of the effort is going to need to come from him, not the rest of the team or even coaches. He can get his own within this offense, we’ve seen.

I think this is a simplified response. Ayton gets the ball in crowded paint positions and has to pass. He does not get the ball in scoring position.

What do you mean scoring position? Like wide open? Single coverage? Open midrange? He gets those touches too when we can generate them and he passes those off too

Scoring position meaning getting the ball with a chance to score. Watch the last game again. He gets the ball with Sabonis or turner right and another defender running at him as soon as he catches the ball. He didn’t take his first shot until 9 minute mark of 2nd quarter. Come on man. CP3 treating DA like Steven Adams. I don’t think I’ve seen one alleyoop this year

Don't forget we were 1-7 from the FT line in the first quarter, including 0-6 from Book/DA/Bridges.
That game, as far as shooting is concerned, was an anomaly and it cost us.

Not an anomaly. Suns don’t get to the line because they shoot too many 3s. They can’t make their free throws because they’re not getting easy buckets

I’m done though. Happy for the 7-3 start but I think we will be more of a 500 team going forward especially when we start playing more on the road against better teams.
We will continue to give up a lot of 2nd chance points because everyone but Ayton is at the 3pt line.
We will continue to be the worst ft team because everything is a 3 or jump shot.
Hopefully they figure it out sooner than later cuz judging from the pistons game it looks like this team is easy to beat if the 3 isn’t falling

Just watch the last two offensive possessions for the suns before halftime against the pacers. Ayton was wide open twice first time CP3 ignores DA and shoots a crazy 3. Next play Ayton in his spot CP3 throws him some lazy behind the back terrible pass

Some play here or there do not change the fact that we won to the Pacers on the road coming back of a tough loss in OT.

Ayton is not a selfish player, he does not care about his numbers and that is a nice.
That is why I do not think he cares about those details that you are commenting...not a problem for anyone.

From NBA Power Rankings (Suns are 2nd in the rankings!):

"Mikal Bridges’ 34 points in Indiana on Saturday weren’t just a career high for the third-year forward who leads the league with 14 corner 3s. They were a season high for the Suns, with Devin Booker yet to have scored more than 26. The Suns have a top-10 offense with seven guys averaging double-figures and more remarkable than Bridges’ hot shooting (6-for-8 from beyond the arc) on Saturday was that the Suns had 33 assists and just three turnovers against a Pacers defense that ranked second in opponent turnover rate through Friday. That assist-to-turnover ratio of 11.0 is the highest mark for any team in a game in the last 15 seasons (since the Bucks had 23 and 2 in April of 2006)."

Pace: 97.4 (30) OffRtg: 112.5 (7) DefRtg: 106.4 (5) NetRtg: +7.0 (3)

Top 10 in ORtg and DRtg and 3 in NetRtg.

Even though I don't think the team has even played all that impressively, they're still having an impressive season so far. I think they can only get better from here, too, as a lot of their struggles are seeming to come from lack of chemistry while installing the new guys to their tasks.

What makes you automatically put down Portland, Dallas, Utah and Denver in place of us? Aside from Lakers and Clippers, there are no guarantees. That list maybe makes sense if you only go by preseason speculation, but what we're seeing now isn't quite the same.

It may all come down to injuries, COVID, etc. We were 7-4 last year without Ayton...before Baynes got injured.

Most all teams in the west are 500 or better.

Ultimately our starters need to play better together or we won't go too far. They have been outscored so far.

Actually, with the way COVID goes, having as deep a team as possible will be very important. And we happen to have one of the deepest teams in the league.

Can't phrase it any better than this.

Our record is nice to have, but if the starters are being outplayed as bad as we they have been, this team is not going to be in the playoff or at best, a curb-stomped exit in the first round. Chris Paul and Booker needs to figure out to play together, it's been rough for the two regarding their chemistry. Bench has been a pleasant surprise but injuries and covid is the reality. We saw how badly this team need Saric as a backup center. Just a couple of minor injuries, and it begins to start looking rough.

Bruh you sure do like to complain, Book could win the map, we could win the championship and you would want to start the team over

I guess we’ll see tonight. Like I said if y’all like this offense enjoy but it’s going to be a very sad ending if they don’t get Ayton and Booker in rhythm in games
