It's no coincidence that JJ drafted Stix. Ayton not his man and trade is behind the corner.

We've got plenty of scoring options and Ayton is only getting around 12ppg. (haven't looked at his stats)

We can easily find a 7'0 with hustle and aggression, with the ability to draw fouls, who can get up between 8-14ppg and 12rpg and a solid defender. Doesn't need to be a star, just a hustler.

STOP BLAMING AYTON FOR ****.

This is all on monty and cp3.

CP3 is the new head coach and monty is his bitch.

We could have just kept Rubio and moved Oubre...

Now we are playing some slow cp3 **** that just ends up with shooting 3s...

Everyone still in denial? Ayton doesn’t get the ball. If I was him I wouldn’t be playing hard either. All that running around setting picks and I never get the ball. I think Ayton is already unhappy but team was winning. Now the losing is going to start.

This is the hard part, especially when it comes to PnR defense. Few big men are able to contain PnR ball handlers as well as Ayton. Offensively, totally agree.

Hey Mr. "We should draft Ayton #1!" I wasn't one of the 109 people who wanted him because watching him in college I let everyone know he is a finesse player, likes to pass and looks lost on defense.

I wanted Doncic.

However, Ayton has improved in areas more than I expected him to, despite some of these games like tonight where he played like ass.

KLEON wrote:This would probably never happen but I wish we do draft Ayton with the 1st pick and with Doncic not sure he wants to be in the NBA I hope teams pass on him until the 16 pick and then we draft him.

 Every time he gets the ball in the post he passes it back out when he realize that he can't manage the defender. He sets weak screens and I've never seen him demand the ball. He has CP3 who's one of the best PG in the league and you never see him try to run a PnR and PnP, Ayton is a bust, just admit it

We'll get half an eaten bag of chips.

I'm all for not maxing him out, but wtf are we going to get in any return in a trade?

Cant keep both Bridges and Johnson in future if there is plan to give Ayton extension also.

Sure we can. I seriously doubt we give Ayton close to the max based on what we see now. I don't think Cam will be that expensive either.

hes doing what the coaches tell him to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet Ayton would alrdy be an all-star on another team.

I hope we trade him and he wrecks the league.

We dont deserve Ayton if people think any of these losses are on aytons shoulders.

**** off.

What we'd lose on the PnR defense, we'd gain in a reduction in opposition offensive rebounds and easy put backs.

Lopez, who has played for nearly every bottom ranked team had 3 offensive rebounds out of his 1st 5. While he may have improved his PnR defense, those sorts of stats against you are inexcusable.

Something the good rebounders of the last 25 years have done is always look to make contact with their opponent when they were going for the rebound and not boxed out. Refs won't call anything if you jump into your man slightly while keeping your eyes on the ball and your hands directed to the ball. They've always deemed it accidental contact.

Not sure that's the case. Big part of why we're good defensively for the first time in like 15years is because of Ayton's ability to cover the PnR and recover to disrupt shots in the paint. Our offense works because he works well with Bridges and their combined length covers such a massive area of the court. I don't think we make up what we lose defensively, especially if we get a big who gets played off the court because they don't have a hope to contain the PnR.

The missed 3s were not clean looks with great ball movement around the perimeter like we see sometimes. At least half of them were awkward 3s where they had to side step a defender or had a defender coming quickly and had to launch it quickly and there were airballs, just hitting backboard, etc.

It was just ugly ball movement. I'm not talking about him starting to pass later necessarily but coming out with the mindset of playing team ball instead of scoring more than Beal.

He did play hard and scored a lot of points, and did well from the line, so maybe it helped his confidence for the future, but if he just tries to do it all himself and shoot 21 times with no assists...we simply won't be winning a lot of games.

He had a couple of games a lot where he passed to guys quickly and had two straight 6-8 assist games with no turnovers. That's the way we need to play...we have also won big when he was not necessarily the main guy and everyone on the team got about an equal number of shots and we have the ability to shoot well when we play team ball.

I know a lot of people just want a lot of points from Booker regardless of a win or loss, but I prefer to win, regardless of individual performance. Same goes for Ayton..I don't care how many points he scores if we win.

Return to Phoenix Suns
