Re: Welcome Tyrese Maxey!
Right now, I project his scoring to be like Jrue’s.
16ppg on average.
3.5 to 4.5 3pta per game.
Low FTA player around 2 to 3 per game.
53TS% on average
As a scorer the thing holding him back will be not being able to be a 3pt volume bomber and low FTr.

No.
And personally, I’d rather have him focus more on his 3pt shooting and getting to the line.
Most guards just run screen play. Even if he turns out to be a good defender, he won’t be able to defend LeBron or Embiid when he switched unto them on screen plays. Watch how Beal dropped 60 on Danny Green.
If he can improve on defense, then i’ll take it. But I hope he doesnt fall into that trap like Ben, and instead he focuses on becoming a star caliber scorer.

He was fouled on at least 4 drives yesterday maybe more. Didn’t get any calls and honestly that’s fine that he didn’t. I don’t think that he avoids contact at all and the free throws will come with his attacking mindset. Dude is going to be a stud.

He scored 39 points last night. That was no fluke.

Yea he got bumped and hit a ton on shots. Whistles are 100% reputation in todays game.

I’m starting to think and and shake could actually be a backcourt duo in a few years.

Re: Welcome Tyrese Maxey!
Maxey's ability to finish around the rim as a guard/wing is something team hasn't had in a very long time. There are a lot of players who posses elite athleticism, can blow by their defender, but can't finish in the paint at a high percentage. They either takeoff too early, can't finish with both hands, can't handle contact or lack touch.
Maxey isn't a explosive athlete elite for an NBA player. What he has is the excellent eye hand coordination, agility, and can finish with both hands like most elite finishers. This ability is rarely something you can teach, so guys just got a knack for it.

He reminds me of Donovan Mitchell the way he bounces around out there.

Mitchell is definitely more explosive. I think Darius Garland would be a better comparison in terms of being sneaky/crafty, at least scoring wise.

Nah Garland is in that Kyrie mold where he has a million tricks in his bag and is just a shift team general.
I still see Dragic in Maxey I haven't come across a comparison I like better yet

Agreed with him being far less explosive compared to Mitchell. I guess I mean the herky jerky bounce and Quickness that he has to his game and him being built like a tank.

Reminds me of a less explosive D Rose as well. Most guys who rely on the floater are more shifty, trying to avoid contact, like Chris Paul and Tony Parker. Maxey has an aggressiveness like D Rose where he was willing to barrel into people and then finish with the floater. That’s why I’m optimistic about him drawing more fouls over time.

I think a less explosive D Rose is a good one. And while not the caliber of athlete as Rose or maybe Mitchell, why are people acting like Maxey is not explosive and is slow? Reading some of the posts on this board you’d think we had another Evan Turner on our hands. I think he’s plenty explosive and has a great first step.
always a jump shot away.

He's definitely plenty explosive and really really good first step. Some people will never be satisfied.
Side question are you D Henry's cleats on the Fantasy Football forum?

Max will be a good player, cant believe we got him with the 21th pick. His pullup jumper is getting wet and he's a great finisher. What a steal!

Personally, offensively in between Jrue and CJ.
Jrue if his shooting doesnt improve then CJ if his shooting improves. 16-20ppg player.
