Time Is Of The Essence

Post#1 » by thomas1897 » Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:01 am

The Lakers are defending their title but the team needs to address the weaknesses now to adapt as quickly as possible. Teams are getting better and so should the Lakers. Playing to just win is good and keeps the team competitive but winning with strong team performances from every position is necessary. Good consistent team performances make the Lakers dominant. It is imperative to send the league a message the Lakers are the team to beat in 2021.

This team's "weaknesses" are being vastly overblown... This is the most complete Laker team since the Shaq/Kobe 3 peat teams.

The shooting will be there when we need it, the defense will be there when we need it, the rim protection will be there when we need it... Teams are going to beat us during the season, we're going to look broken against good teams, but nobody's beating us in a 7 game series if we're healthy.

My favorite lineup right now is THT/Caruso/Lebron/AD/Marc... If we started that, we'd have Schroder/KCP/Kuz/Morris/Trez off the bench... Both of those lineups would be dominant defensively and have enough offense to beat just about anyone, together, it's a nightmare. And we still have Cook, Mathews, McKinney, Cacock, Dudley, and Kostas

So yeah, sure, if a rim protecting big fell in our lap on the buyout market, why not... If we got another jump shooting wing, sure... But I don't think either thing is worth losing any sleep over.

The current team's main weakness is that theyre being a bunch of lazy entitled bitches. It's VERY evident that they're coasting like crazy, as its very obvious that LBJ and AD arent going 100% in the games they play, thus the rest of the team follows their cue. Its why instead of blowing scrub squads out, the Lakers let em linger and the score close. Then on occasional an inferior team will have some fools just go nuclear out of nowhere (Trent Jr POR) and even when Lakers turn it on, it isnt enough to secure the win. Whereas if the Lakers were busting ass from the start, even sudden supernova by an opposing player wont matter as there's a lead cushion.

It's leading to alot of ugly clown shoes basketball. The team obviously doesnt look focused and looks to turn it on in the 4th quarter to put away teams. I'm personally in the school of, if youre on the court, go hard 100%. If you want to take games off, no problem, i'm a full supporter of load management, it means the bench players get more mins and touches, leading to more development and confidence in their game down the line. I dont want LBJ or AD to be loafing around for 20-25 mins a game, and only going hard for like 5-10 mins in the final spurt. If they wanna take it easy, get off the court and let the hard workers and role players grind it out.

Just dont load manage AD and LBJ at the same time, is all I ask.

Edit: Basically if AD and LBJ want to chill during a game they started, go build up a 20-30 pt and then we can let the bench play it out. Problem is, i think they want to play at least 30 mins so that they can get their stats up, cuz blowing out teams at halftime will lead to them playing less to protect them from injury. Per 36 stats will look great, but overall counting stats dont.

This. Preach, brother.

I’m not worried about it yet, but it’s soon time for Frank to tell them the 2020 party is over.
