Silver should really be worried how meaningless regular season has become for fans.

This started with the Spurs and when fans praised Spurs for load managing then every star player thought it was the right thing to do.

Stern should should have come down harder on the Spurs and Silver should hand out Huge fans to players like Harden and Kyrie. This should not be left to the teams to decide. My brother who used to watch pretty much every game of top 5-6 contenders has watched very few games this season.

I can only speak for myself and the millions of other people who watch or listen to NBA regular season game and say that I care about regular season games. When we all stop caring, that's when the regular season will matter more to the players.

To me, taking off regular season games on a consistent basis is a problem purely with a small handful of the most entitled superstars of the league. These guys just so happen to be the most soft players mentally, who think they deserve special privileges because of their salary and status.

Unfortunately, the term "player empowerment" got wrapped into this discussion and being critical of these guys meant you were an anti-progressive, enabling the behavior and encouraging others, as well.

Only when fans and sponsors start to walk away will the message change. Until then, expect more of the same.
