he perfect for the knicks

Month of Jan stats in 5 games

19.2 ppg on 18.8 shots 34% from the floor and 26.7% from 3

would fit right in...another guy that can't shoot that takes a lot of shots

The upside is we didn’t trade any assets for someone we could just sign in FA.

I still think he’d be fairly cheap

It is sad how even the Hornets are much closer to an NBA title than the Knicks are.

i think it's both right now. thibs is always going to run a tight rotation. the defined roles is part of his philosophy on rhythm and cohesion driving consistent execution.

...and we have a lot of injured guys.

I think Thibs and the FO are just bad at adjusting on the fly

We obviously came into this season having a set group of starters and 5 or 6 bench guys Thibs trusts (Rivers, Burks, Noel, Knox, Quick, and Obi), with the younger ones being trusted to a much lesser extent. But then Burks and Obi get injured so we only have 4 guys off the bench, then Noel gets injured taking us down to 8, and because he doesn't really trust Quick, he has him on kind of a short leash so really it's 7, then when Noel gets back, Bullock goes out so we're back down to 8 guys

He just really doesn't even want to experiment or give the deep bench guys a chance to see if they might have anything. Which, let's be honest, none of them are gonna be here long term anyways, but even so, it's much better for the health of the team in the long run to give them emergency minutes due to injuries rather than whatever Thibs is doing

But this is who he is. I'm not surprised in the slightest. Playing the starters at the end of blowouts when the other team is resting their 2nd unit. We got Chicago Thibs, for better and for worse.

I don't even like DSJ but what is he doing on the roster if he can't even get on the floor on a b2b when we are basically down to 8 healthy bodies....

The loser Dolan mindset is thinking he’s our best player.

Or that being the ‘best player’ on the Knicks has any meaning at all.

Let’s keep trading away our best young players and draft more Frank and Knoxs. Are you the guy who’s advising Dolan?

yo. you really on one. easy.

Warriors would’ve ran the league up. Two profilifc ball handlers, more curry off ball, slide Klay down to the 3 to do the same thing he’s been doing.

Wolves on the other hand were kinda forced to draft Edwards since they signed Rubio and have Russell starting. That would’ve been a headache in the making.

Rubio was after the draft, he didn't impact the decision at all
They could have brought Lamelo off the bench, he's coming off the bench righ tnow

I mean, him and Frank are kind of special cases where we're not bringing them back anyways no matter how good they play, so you don't really need to give them a shot to see if they're worth keeping around

But at the same time, it's pretty comical that we had 4 DNP-CD's on the second night of a b2b when only 8 guys played and we got blown out.

im not even talking about there future...im simply talking about if they wont be back and you have no need for them just give thibs a vet he will trust at least. I'm sure he would find 10 minutes for Kyle Korver at this point. Guys like DSJ and Iggy if they aren't even going to get in the game in this situation as healthy scratches with us down 4 rotational players...what are they doing on the bench then?

For example Frank wasn't in the rotation but at least when there injuries happened and thibs was forced to use him thibs gave him some run. If the other guys aren't going to get run get thibs a few guys he might throw in the game then...because at this point he is going to run all the main guys straight into the ground.

so then cut them. Thats my point.

No long term future - check
No short term future - check

= cut bait and get someone in that he will play

he seemed to have plenty of say in the pursuit of gordan hayward last night. If he goes to management (his buddy) leon and says I see no way DSJ or Iggy will get on the court in any meaningful situation get me 2 guys that I can trust you think Leon will say...nah son good luck?

especially with quickley looking like he completely lost his confidence too...they are playing barely 8 guys...and it looks like most of the guys are still at least a week or so away...
