Not imperative, but a 6'7" super sudden player surely has had the opportunity in one of his FG attempts to yam it home....I don't recall seeing it yet.

Recall a soft flush in the first game or two, but - yeah - he'll likely always be a finesse finisher.

EDIT - found it - v. OKC

Wow, that looked quite awkward....haha. I'm not asking for any Miles hammers, but I do hope LaMelo can throw down some nice dunks eventually.

Good find MPM!

Since the NBA is likely going to be postponed for a while,

If you could gift just one of these:

1) Bradley Beal's shooting stroke/ability
2) Russell Westbrook's athleticism
3) Damian Lillard's clutchness rating in the 4th quarter/end of games
4) Ben Simmons' body

to LaMelo, which would you pick, and why?
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Ohhhhhhhhh - I loves these kinds of questions!!

I’ll take #1: Bradley Beal's shooting stroke/ability.

Melo is already so dangerous with the elements to his game he does have that I think if you added deadly shooting/scoring he’s be out of this world.

- I think his length/quickness and smarts can make up for not having other worldly athleticism.
- He’s already a pretty ballsy and confident player so I don’t think he’ll have problems shying away from game winners - and with Beals shooting/scoring he’d be good.
- I trust his driving and effectiveness on D, even without the body of Simmons.

I think I go with 1 or 3.

Rank:
4) In my mind Ben Simmons size would be very nice, but LaMelo's already a plus size player.
3) Russell Westbrooks athleticism would be amazing. I had recently already envisioned that if he had this, we'd have never been in position to draft him in the first place. However if top tier finishing doesn't accompany that athleticism, it's much less impressive.
2) 4th quarter scoring/end of games scoring, is probably what I should choose, because the hardest thing in basketball is scoring when it matters most. If were just talking about confidence then I think LaMelo already has that going for him.
1) Ultimately I landed on Beal's shooting stroke, because it'd make him a consistent scorer throughout the game.

Melo with elite shooting ability would probably be an MVP candidate someday. Easy choice.

I think you guys underestimate having a 6'10", pretty strong LaMelo with the same speed, ball handling and craftyness that he has and willingness to shoot, and banking on he can fix his shot....

He is going to get stronger naturally though, think he can add 10 lbs of muscle in one offseason.

I'd still probably go Beal's shooting, but if he gets RW strength/athletics then is he basically a Lebron type? Lebron has learned to be a better shooter but he spent a lot of his career in the low 30s. A place where I expect Melo to be for at least first part of his career.

I think I’d actually go with the Lillard clutch. But having the Beal scoring is also tough to not take first.

I don't know but did you guys know this kid's middle name is "LaFrance"?

His brothers got Anderson and Robert, his dad's is Christopher. But nah...

You keep Nic and anything about him away from LaMelo.

Thread title suggestions:

3rd Time's The Charm (referring to Lavar finally producing a star)
That Sound You Hear is Eric Collins Screaming
Worthy of LJ's Number

I also like the idea of something with LaFrance though, too weird not to use.
