Why would you trade one of the best players in the league if not the best player for James Harden; and now fully healthy and willing to play back to back games since 2017.

That would be a coup (probably a bad idea to use that word right now) for the Rockets. You might be thinking of Lakers-Ingram. :)

Still if they could get it, I would pull that trigger immediately. Not only a young multitalented scoring forward at their weakest position, but also reuniting that 2010 Kentucky team.

Where's Patrick Patterson?

I'll let you in on a secret. There are way more trade discussions between front offices that go on than there are trade rumors that make it to the media. A guy can get traded without the NBA news media knowing about it beforehand, it happens all the time.

Yep and harden probably knows a deal can be done if the Rockets are forced to accept it. Hence the final nail in the coffin

Honestly, I still think Portland is a great fit. CJ seems to have taken a step forward increasing his 30t volume while maintaining efficiency. Gary Trent is a nice young piece. Portland can offer multiple firsts and maybe someone like Simons as well. CJ can help Houston stay somewhat competitive and if you bank on his increased 3 volume and better assist rate this year than he can net you a good return in the offseason as well.

From Portland's point of view, the offense hasn't been much more than your turn/my turn between CJ and Dame for years now. They'd likely just get a vastly more potent version of that. Portland already has some decent pieces around a Harden centric team anyways with Nurkic being a good P&R partner and a decent enough crop of shooters surrounding Dame and Harden.

If CJ continues to play in the vicinity of where he currently is, outside of Jamal Murray and Ben Simmons, I'm not sure there's a better singular player that Houston could get for Harden.

He's won one title on his own over the KD, Klay, missing Warriors. Harden had them beat with both guys playing until CP3 went down. Let's not act like Kawhi has proven to be so much greater. In fact numbers wise, it's laughable to compare their careers

Maybe... how the hell is Philly going to match salary? That's $50M that Philly has to match, what combo of players are they going to use to get there?

I'm sure they are if you can match it. But that's another $8M that a team has to come up with in salary. It's going to be damn tough for a lot of teams to come up with an assortment of $50M in salary that doesn't gut the team.

Philly has a 15 million trade exception I think

What do the NBA / Owners do with brats like Mr. iQuit Harden & World B Flat? I'm all for draining every ounce of blood from the billionaire owners, but this

I'd personally sit the player for a reserve cast away role till I find a trade that suits me. Bonus, if it coincides at trading them off to hell holes like Charlotte, NY, Cleveland, so they and any other demented wannabe morons out there can learn a lesson.

Don't get me wrong he is still great player but no chance he is winning championship with that attitude...
I just hope brooklyn doesn't bite. They will collapse if they get him in a trade... too much whining on one team

If Nets trade for him, deal is going to have to include Kyrie since Dinwiddie is out. Houston probably doesn’t bite for obvious reasons but if by any chance they would, I am not against it

I don't think it matters about Dinwiddie being out, it was always been about the Nets giving all the picks possible. Dinwiddie is a free agent anyway, and they seem to like saving money. Perhaps Dinwiddie could have gotten a little being flipped so I guess there is that.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

There are rules on trade exceptions though. Isn't there a rule about the amount of players that can be traded in combination with a TPE? Also, I believe you can't take on more salary than the TPE in the same trade. I think the TPE can only be used in trades that involve up to $15M in this case of moving salary.

Because right now I'd say the Lakers are the clear favorites for this season and the only thing that's going to upset that is a team going all-in with Harden

Denver with Harden is no threat. Their defense is atrocious, and it will be atrocious with or without him. They're not winning anything.

In order for BOS to get Harden, they'll have to give up at least Brown and Smart. A Tatum and Harden duo is no threat to LBJ and AD. Especially once you take into account Boston's lack of depth and their defense being worse because of giving up Brown and Smart. Plus, AD will eat Theis and TT for lunch. We've already seen what Bam did to Theis in the playoffs.

Now, Harden on Philly? That might be a threat. But two things: 1) After their starting lineup their depth is very shaky; 2) the 76ers have to get out of the East first, and MIL and BRK will have something to say.

Harden in Philly with Embiid , Tobias Harris, Curry, Milton and Green will be deadly

Hard disagree. I don't trust Shake Milton in the playoffs. Sorry to tell you this, but Danny Green is washed; go look at his last 4 playoff runs. Tobias Harris is...whatever. Tobias would be a horrible fit in a Harden-Embiid centric offense anyway. I guess Harden can turn him into a spot-up 3 point shooter or they can have him run the 2nd unit. In any event, the Lakers are 10 deep; PHI has no answer for that kind of depth.
