Kyrie seems like he's playing with the same bag of marbles as MAGA nutjobs. Man I'd laugh my ass off if Tilman Fertitta traded JOHN WALL for Kyrie.

If Kyrie Irving is missing games for personal reasons, or for his quest to inform about injustice, couldn't the nets void his contract for breach of contract. I've always been curious about things like this. The Nets go into a contract in good faith expecting Kyrie to play basketball. If Kyrie is unavailable to do so for other reasons than an injury aren't the Nets in their legal rights to terminate that contract.
Not saying the Nets should just curious if they could.

Not a lawyer, but I do work with contracts. I think the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is very player friendly and it is virtually impossible to void a contract, which is sort of why you never see it. If a team moves to void a contract, the player has a right to file a grievance and that gets arbitrated and I think it is very rare for the arbitrators to vote in favor of voiding a contract. Under the Uniform Commercial Code or Federal Acquisition Regulation, it is a bit more cut and dry as to what happens when there is a failure to perform or meet the terms/condition of a contract. For a commercial product/service, if, say the plumber never shows up to your house you either are entitled to a refund or you wouldn't pay since services weren't rendered. For Government contracts, the Government would hit the contractor with a cure notice followed by a termination for default if there was no resolution. The CBA language is in the below link and the language you're looking for can be found in Exhibit A -- Uniform Player Contract, A-16.

your trading for 1.5 years of fat harden...at least simmons is under control and he might be the best defensive player in the NBA. Sure he has his limitations but I don't want Harden holding my organization hostage.

What happens if Philly trades for him and they lose in the playoffs does Harden cry that his teammates in Philly aren't good enough to win too?

I would take the risk. You’re not going anywhere far in the playoffs with Ben Simmons.

The same could be said about Harden. I will take the younger, more in shape, less diva player and try to figure it out. There is no way Harden will get into good enough shape this year...I just wouldn't trust him...he seems like he throwing games right now to get his way. Too much of a risk for me.

With Embiid's health hanging over the organization like the sword of damocles, I'd rather have the guy who better complements Embiid for these next handful of years to maximize my chances of getting a ring before Embiid starts to break down.

Maybe that guy isn't Harden, but if I were Morey, I would definitely be figuring out who I can turn Ben Simmonds into that would be a better partner for Joel.

Harden was one game away from reaching the finals. Simmons never made it out the second round. He always gets exposed in the playoffs. Eventually the Sixers are going to pick between Embiid and Simmons. Might as well trade Simmons for a superstar while the opportunity is there.

I mean the sixers where one crazy Kawhi shot away from getting to the conference finals. They took the raptors 7 games.

I think that roster made much more sense for sixers then last years roster where they traded Butler for trash.

I wouldn't be opposed to trade Simmons I just wouldn't trust Harden at this point.

It’s definitely risky but I just don’t see them winning anything with Ben Simmons. I think Harden and Embiid can be a championship contending duo imo.

same, I just don't like the Simmons/Embiid pairing and think Harden would fit better and gives them the better chance at a title. sure, they sacrifice the long-term a bit, but short-term it gives them the best shot to win....

Harden's value/perception is down b/c he's out there looking like Augustus Gloop, but I'm sure once he's traded he'll work his way back into shape

That would be a former logical explanation for erratic behavior.

In this case, I think it's more that Kyrie is just kind of nuts and also that he's a LOT less smart than he thinks he is.
Not that he isn't smart. Just that he thinks he's brilliant...but he's not anything of the sort.

They took the Raptors to 7 with Butler being primary ball handler, Simmons was non existent on offense and killed their spacing and is also why Butler left. Last night Simmons scored 5 pts being guarded by Kelly Olynyk and the Heat backups because they're smart enough of a team to backup off him and dare him to shoot. You trade that tomorrow, fat Harden is a better player than Simmons will ever be, he's pretty much the same exact player he was as a rookie.
