I mean the sixers where one crazy Kawhi shot away from getting to the conference finals. They took the raptors 7 games.
I think that roster made much more sense for sixers then last years roster where they traded Butler for trash.
I wouldn't be opposed to trade Simmons I just wouldn't trust Harden at this point.
They took the Raptors to 7 with Butler being primary ball handler, Simmons was non existent on offense and killed their spacing and is also why Butler left. Last night Simmons scored 5 pts being guarded by Kelly Olynyk and the Heat backups because they're smart enough of a team to backup off him and dare him to shoot. You trade that tomorrow, fat Harden is a better player than Simmons will ever be, he's pretty much the same exact player he was as a rookie.
he also had 12 assists and you can argue he is the best perimeter defender in the NBA.

They also got back into the game when he fouled out, and their offense / Embiid went nuts with him on the bench. He's a former number 1 pick, 12 assists and good defense aren't the expectation when you draft that high, 20-25ppg is what you want. He's averaging 12.6ppg, that is a joke, so much so that it looks like Tyrese Maxey is going to pass him soon in scoring
How are they supposed to beat the Heat in a playoff series if he can't even score on Kelly O?
?s=20
You trade him, it's obvious by now he's never going to look to score, and he's never going to be comfortable shooting.

So, you want to trade Mitch? Because Simmons can't run PnR with a non-shooting big, it's why they never run it with him and Embiid.
He's just not that good, the shine has come off his game, there's no potential there because he never looks to score.

I will figure out the offense...I would have the best defense in the NBA with Simmons and Mitch.

You can't have a high functioning offense with him, the Sixers are 17th in offensive rating right now, all that firepower and spacing they have, and they're 17th because anytime Embiid tries to post up Simmons is in the dunkers spot calling for the ball posting up behind him.
He's not an aggressive enough scorer to build an offense around like Giannis, it's not like he explodes as a scorer when Embiid is out, he's played 53 games without Embiid and averages 18.2ppg.

Best case scenario:
Harden to 76'ers, f*cks over Nets. That's a win.
76'ers surrender Simmons and draft capital, weakening their team for the future.
Fat Harden and Embiid underachieve, don't win finals, fat Harden leaves in a few years, injuries catch up to Embiid, he starts to decline.
Only thing better is Knicks get involved as a 3rd team and pry a pick away from someone for one of their misfit players.

and with all that they are 8-4 basically tied for the best record in the east. No one says you need to build around him...but he can be a secondary piece to a main scorer. He is arguably the best perimeter defender (might win all NBA defense). And still gets triple doubles. Yes the non shooting stinks....but look at Beal he can shoot but he can't defend so his team doesn't win. Unless LeBron, Kawhi, Luka, Giannis are hitting the open market anytime soon...you can build arguments nearly against every other star in the league pretty much.

I don't know man...if they nets get rid of all there depth and have KD, flaky Kyrie, and fat albert Harden...part of me thinks that blows up in there face and then they would have no picks until 2027 probably.

They are 8-4 because Embiid & Curry are having great seasons so far. He's been a secondary piece to Embiid his entire career, it doesn't work, he's the reason why the Sixers didn't resign Butler, he hated being moved off the ball. I bet you the Sixers would trade him for Beal in a second if it were offered, and they would have made the Harden trade weeks ago if he were 26-28 years old. That is the only thing Simmons has going for him right now, his age and the prayer that he might shoot someday.
It's not that the shooting stinks, it's that he doesn't shoot and he rarely looks to score. You can't win with someone on the ball like that in todays NBA, he can't play in the halfcourt.

Re: Around the NBA - Randle >>>> Harden etc
Big picture, this could be good news for the Knicks, as it accelerates the general NBA timeline for starz to punk their way out of contracts.
I mean, this stuff used to take nearly all season, I believe some others have gone to the trade deadline, and this one is, what, about 12-15 games in?
So, in that theoretical where D. Mitch or Booker or KAT or whatever fantasy Kentucky/CAA/WWW/LEON ROSE! scenario is true or (more likely) people have convinced themselves is true, then maybe it'll happen earlier in a year.
Except it won't, because the Knicks f*ck everything up/are doomed and Leon Rose is getting fired in 2 years.
But IF it happens, precedent is set to play 15 "I don't give a f*ck" games to make as nice show, and THEN get traded.
Theoretically.
If you believe in the Rose/WWW mythos.
I think they are FOS

Anyway we can send Payton and RJ out to the 76'ers and Philly and get Simmons back?
They can have Frank and Knox too.
Plus filler, which is a choice among every Knick but Randle and maybe Mitch. To make the $ work.
