I'd take LeVert and a 1st rounder for Randle if the Knicks give up nothing else(maybe DSJ too) every day that includes a 'Melo can suck at fat Harden' in it.... can you guess how many days that is?
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

They are 8-4 because Embiid & Curry are having great seasons so far. He's been a secondary piece to Embiid his entire career, it doesn't work, he's the reason why the Sixers didn't resign Butler, he hated being moved off the ball. I bet you the Sixers would trade him for Beal in a second if it were offered, and they would have made the Harden trade weeks ago if he were 26-28 years old. That is the only thing Simmons has going for him right now, his age and the prayer that he might shoot someday.

It's not that the shooting stinks, it's that he doesn't shoot and he rarely looks to score. You can't win with someone on the ball like that in todays NBA, he can't play in the halfcourt.

there also really good because they have a top 5 team defensive rating in the NBA. That is sort of important to winning, right?

They had a top 10 defense in 3 of the last 4 seasons, how has that worked out in the playoffs? Remember that 1pt game by Simmons against the Celtics, even better how about that 11.6ppg he scorched the Raptors for in that series you mentioned

If they keep him I guarantee his offense will be the reason they lose in the playoffs.

you know there are certain teams that would just love to get too the playoffs right?

I know one very fondly

I'd be looking to trade Randle for a stretch 4 later on

Or, for some picks for a playoff team that needs a playoff big/6th man. And let Obi function as the stretch 4.
Unless Obi sucks and is kind of a bust, which is probably highly likely.
I guess the Knicks could find that guy in FA.

All that work for a 12-15 PPG guy with no jumper who can't even shoot free throws. Might as well just keep Elfrid Payton and the rest of those guys.

If it just took Elf and RJ, I'd do it, because RJ sucks and Simmons is Super Elf.

And since we've been told how good Elf is lately, I'll take Elf plus 5 inches taller, better defense, better passer.

It's probably OKC, who will somehow extract 2 #'1 picks from both Brooklyn AND Houston. :D

Cant' see how Simmons & Wall work together. If this trade goes down John Wall is coming to our Knicks for capspace, Frank and Bullock. :D

He's actually worse than Payton on offense, for all his faults at least Payton will take the corner three if it's open and spaces to the corner or wings. Simmons when he's off the ball will just go to the dunkers spot, doesn't matter who is there, it would be the same exact thing that happened to the Sixers last year. You'd see Mitch, Randle and Simmons all within 5 feet of the rim, just like how Horford, Embiid and Simmons were, except we don't have an Embiid type of offensive talent.

Randle and LeVert are both kinda in the same vein for me

Both have skill sets of stars, but neither are really good enough to be stars (unless Randle keeps this up all year, which I have reservations about)

It'd be kind of a lateral move at best. I guess you could argue we get more perimeter shot creation, which we need, but I doubt it really changes our record much

But then again, it does open up minutes for Obi and Knox, and we'd get a first

Probably worth it, actually. Straight up, not so much, but if they're sending us a pick, go for it.
