If we can get Harden and void Irving's contract, I guess it won't be so bad. :noway:

I think the hard reality the Nets might have to entertain is that no particular path is likely to lead to a championship. Sometimes you can do everything right and still not achieve the ultimate aim, and that's not the end of the world IMO.

I for one hope the Nets preserve their assets, do the best they can, trying to enjoy the ride, and keep future options open. Remain a smart, popular ball club attractive to future FA's, and things may work out surprisingly well.

Overpay just for a short, chaotic window of opportunity, and it will be like we've learned nothing from the Prokhorov Plan.

Sigh, this Harden Saga just needs to end. The quicker the drama around this team goes away the better.

I'm not sure it'll go away soon. Last night comments is a nuclear bomb that exploded. Things will escalate from now on. Also when he reports its usually legit, I think there are talks between two teams right now. Harden price tag will be dropping, Rockets will take lower offers now.

Looks like the Rockets want Harden gone in the next 24-48hrs. Thank goodness.

Will wait to see the trade before I comment about anything. Have a bad feeling that it will be the Nets.

The writing was on the wall since he requested a trade. I’m surprised HOU didn’t send him home earlier, but I guess they were just trying to see if there’s any chance if his differences with the team could’ve smoothed out.

Now, that’s he’s out until a trade happens, you can expect the rumor mill to be on overdrive until a deal is official.

We're not beating Simmons/Maxey + picks and I do not think mortgaging 7 1st round picks is a wise decision.

Yeah, I don’t see us beating Philly’s offers right now.

I'm wondering how much D'Antoni, Nash and KD involved in all this. I bet Marks standing his ground right now. We know he's Tsai pick and will have his full support.
As I said in years past, Marks earned my trust in any basketball decisions. He has my full support.

Not that I don’t think Harden’s worth it but I would only trade picks for the years the player is signed through strictly for the sake of being pragmatic. Unless Harden signs an extension, I’m only trading picks for this season and the next, otherwise I wouldn’t have picks during the years I may no longer have a superstar.

If Ben Simmons is on the table, Houston would be dumb to take any other offer.

I said from the start, Houston going into the season with Harden was a dumb move. His stock will only go down. This isn't 25 year old Anthony Davis. It's 31 year old Harden. You wait 1 more year and he's an expiring contract on the tail end of his prime. Houston decided to be cute and ask for the world and now let's see what they get.

I’ve been talking all off-season about how Tucker is an ideal 3&D player for us. I’d LOVE to have him on the team!

Morey will never give Ben for Harden straight up. You ask more along and he'll hang that phone call. Biid on the other hand can be done. Guy made of glass, he's quick to pull trigger on those kind. Budinger, Parsons etc players been shipped in a heart beat.

Damn. I could see Houston looking at our package as a cultural reset with guys like LeVert, Allen who are low maintenance.
