Harden deal DONE - your take? (You can select multiple options)

Harden My Heart - Nets win. You get a chance at a transformative player, you take it. Any real damage is years off, if ever, and in the meantime you are a legit contender.
28
22%
Home Dipo - Rockets win. The love affair was over, and in exchange they got a *good* win-now player in Oladipo (albeit expiring), plus 4 picks and 4 swaps. That's a plenty good salvage under the circumstances.
19
15%
Allen Key - Cavaliers win. They picked up their C of the future for taking one extra year of Taurean Prince and giving up a lame pick.
45
35%
LeVerting to the Mean - Pacers win. Oladipo is talented, but they got a good younger (and *cheaper*) player to keep growing with their core.
28
22%
Driving a Harden Bargain - Nobody wins. Harden won't help the Nets win anything, both Houston and Cleveland screwed up by giving up value for players they will still have to sign, and a rising Pacers team just got worse.

I guess Indy is giving up upside for cost control over the long haul?

Well Oladipo is a better player than anything Brooklyn offered, so there's that. Hope they have a plan for those picks, otherwise this trade is a huge bust. The only picks of value is the Cleveland 1st and maybe some of the distant Brooklyn picks. Overall gross, probably gonna just check out on the NBA for a while if there's not some big follow up move. Congrats on playing yourself Fertitta, enjoy the luxury tax savings or whatever you think you got in this deal.

I kinda like that Houston team. They can sneak into the playoffs. For the sake of the pick OKC has I hope they don't. But I think they could.

Obviously Brooklyn big winners here. Philly looks really bad imo if it was about Maxey or no Maxey. But I am sure we'll get some patented Morey spin.

Need details on what's leaving the Cavs, but if they grabbed Allen for a protected pick that's a nice snag and somewhat uncharacteristically aggressive for the Cavs which I think is a good sign.

It's not a CLE 1st, it's a MIL 1st.

Hate to bring you down further...looks like the pick Cleveland gave up is Milwaukee's 2022.

Wonder if PJ Tucker is available now? Should be a highly coveted pickup by any would-be contenders

Big fan of this for Houston. They have a bunch of very talented guys coming off injuries that could stay healthy and perform and get them to a 6 or 7 seed, or they could end up well outside the playoffs. But swinging here with Dipo over LaVert was a good call.

Wow... Dipo has been playing well. Kinda surprised that Pacers made that trade. They really weren't interested in paying Dipo...

Not sure why Rockets sold Allen?

But Wall - Dipo - House - Tucker - Wood should be fun to watch

Breaking it down as reported so far:

Nets trade LeVert, Prince, Allen, Kurucs, 3 1sts, 4 swaps - for Harden and 2nd rounder
Rockets trade Harden - for Oladipo, Kurucs, Exum, 4 1sts, 4 swaps
Cavs trade Exum, Milwaukee 1st, 2nd - for Allen and Prince
Pacers trade Oladipo for LeVert

Can update as details come in...

I personally think one of Drummond or Allen is headed to CLT soon.

We didn't have draft capital equivalent to a Bucks 1st rounder. And it seems the Rockets are now stockpiled with picks from the Pistons, Wizards, Nets and Bucks.

If this is one deal, please merge the Dipo thread in. I created the other based on intial reporting. Plus if you do it then you will be able to sneak in your stupid poll.

I love it for them because they no longer have to make one of the tougher offseason calls. If you keep Dipo, you pretty much have to give him a mondo contract, and I'm not so sure you want to do that. The injury history and the questionable ranged jumper make it tough to see him making his next contract worth it.

Levert you get for 2 more years, at presumably about 60% of the price, and I'd feel more comfortable from a consistency standpoint with him. He's not the #1 Dipo could be, but I'd rather have a solid 2/3 I can count on than a 1 I feel suspect about.

4 unprotected 1sts and 4 unprotected swaps with Dipo isn't bad at all. Would've liked something around simmons and maxey more but oh well. I don't like levert at all and would rather see if oladipo can keep up his bounce back season and try to re-sign him. Otherwise they have cap space

Possible unless the Cavs cornered the market for 5's and demand an overpay.

Though I'm not a huge fan of this for the Rockets at all, I dont get why people are sleeping on the Nets 24 and 26 picks... who do you think is still gonna be there, and any good, then?

Yeah just saw that.....so this trade has achieved full trash status. Welp, off to the NFL to see if the other terrible Houston organization can salvage the Deshaun relationship. Enjoy the gift Brooklyn, you're welcome. **** you Tilman Fertitta.

The ranged jumper was one of the things to feel the best about Oladipo! The defense too, as we had basically put him as primary defender on the priority wings.
