Very good, he should have at least one more MVP (in 2017 definitely and you could argue 2015) and he should be on 2016 All-NBA third team. He always made a playoffs as a Rocket and took Warriors to 7 in 2018. He will be remembered fondly by Rockets fans.

Great legacy boost. Had his playoff flops but In Reality he only had one title level cast and Paul got injured.

One of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

Houston is where he got to spread his wings and go from 6th man to MVP.

The 2nd most consistent player of the core 8(LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul and Stephen Curry).

Best offensive player of the OKC trio.

Most underrated of the core 8 because of playstyle.

Lottery player who got his way on his own team and now needs to change to win championships

Positives:

- One of best regular season offensive players of all time
- Strip club shenanigans and stories were entertaining as hell

Negatives:

- Shrank if not quit multiple times in playoffs
- Flopping and ref-baiting made team unwatchable and unlikeable
- Tip of spear of whiny, bratty, entitled team culture that ran from the court into the front office
- Face of a team that bastardized the sport of basketball and was a blemish on the spirit of the game

I love John Wall and like Victor Oladipo so am glad I can now watch, enjoy, and possibly root for the Rockets again.

One of the greatest scorers of all time. Deserved at least 1 more MVP. Fantastic regular season player. Playoff choker.

Pretty damn good. His teams always overperformed or did what they should have. Don't ever recall him losing in the playoffs to teams they were favored against. Not many could carry the load he had to all these years.

Great scorer, not a team player, few big playoff moments, 27 missed 3s in a chance to beat the most talented team ever (I know he didn't personally miss them all, but styles make fights).

As a loser and team cancer who made a mockery of the game of basketball by playing for weak fouls and hogging the ball.

I'll remember him as the second best player in franchise history and an offensive juggernaut, but crucially lacking the elite-level character of guys like Duncan, Curry, and Lillard. Also, I'll remember that the league robbed him of a championship with crooked officiating in the 2018 WCF.

At Houston: he did well with the poor teams he got handed.
Post Houston: a worse Durant that needs even a bigger super team to win it all.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

From a non-Rockets fan point of view, he's probably the 3nd greatest Rocket of all time. Although Yao/T-Mac were injured he did more than that duo ever did playoff-wise. He has to be ranked higher than popular role players like Horry, Cassell and Elie and Maxwell cause he was better. And Sampson got hurt and Drexler wasn't there long enough. He's not above Malone though.

He's absolutely above Malone. Just my opinion, of course, but I'm speaking as someone who who was a Rockets fan for over 30 years until the day Morey signed with Philadelphia. Anyway, no one other than Malone is even remotely close. Maybe Rudy T., but you'd have to also include his coaching days, obviously, which I'm not.
