The 2021/22 Magic roster starts as:
Fultz/Anthony/Carter/Williams
LeVert/Ross
Isaac/Clark
Spashy-FA/Okeke/Aminu
Vučević/Bamba

There is a lot to like about that roster.

Edit: obviously the above does not have Fultz on opening night.

Haven't we been looking for a good/quality SF for a while now? Also, JI is def NOT a SF

He defends at the SF slot.

TBF He defends ALL positions a lot. But in terms of offense, he kind of clogs the paint because defenders won't even guard him at the 3 pt line.

SF nowadays are usually 3pt gunners and the stars are those that can break down defenders when driving.

I think in the new defensive system he will be a roaming help defender who's there to cover the rim, which would put him on whichever forward is closer to the rim/corner. But who knows, the team could change a lot by the time Isaac is back on the court.

I had a bigger pile o'deals that got smacked around but how about...

AG into BOS' TPE + Nesmith or Grant Williams (who seems like he's already doing what Nesmith was drafted to do)

Bamba to NOLA for NAW

Why does everyone want to trade AG so much? He is the only pf Magic have. Issac is injured all the time. What make people think he will ever be able to play more then 15 games a year?

Multiple reasons. Fit with Isaac is a problem. Both are built to play the 4 to utilize thier talents and we are invested in Isaac long term. Also its no secret our front office has been discussing moving him for 2 seasons. Given the contract he is on its likely he moves on after it expires. He may be our most tradable player asset on this team.

Because the alternative to that is to trade JI.

Now if you wanna talk about how AG is more helpful due to less "injury-prone" than JI, that's another topic.

Fit where? 2K maybe. 18/19 was the only season he was healthy. That is one out of four seasons. If the plan is to wait the whole life for JI as our savior, than we are doomed. I really like him, but at the same time I am tired of waiting. It`s been too long. The guy you want to built around has to play. And JI looks more and more like Greg Oden right now. And therefore if you want to trade AG, you need PF in return as well.

We need to jump in that Nets-Rocket trade

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y622b753

Nets:
IN: Harden + tucker + Clemons
OUT: Levert+ Allen+ dinwiddie+Prince + future 1sts (swaps)

Rockets:
IN: Allen+ dinwiddie+Prince + future 1sts (swaps) + Aaron Gordon
Out:Harden + tucker + Clemons

Magic
IN: Levert
Out: Gordon
Grayson or Monk? Bring the cheapest

Interesting. I like AG's fit next to Wood but I don't see Allen having much value to HOU and Dinwiddie is basically paper as he's out and an UFA coming up. So, probably not enough to HOU, IMO...Levert and Dinwiddie would have been the core before his injury (could have extended to trade him)

But pair him with JI with a Center then he isnt gonna be an effective SF.

Fournier, Anthony, Bamba, 21 first, 23 first, 25 first for Bradley Beal

2021/22 lineup
C. Vucevic/Birch
PF. Issac/ Okeke/ Aminu
SF. Gordon/Clark
SG. Beal/Ross
PG. Fultz/MCW/MLE

Gordon, Aminu and Mozgrov’s salary coming off the books in the 2022 off season would leave Orlando’s salary at roughly $105million which is under the current salary cap of $109million. If the cap goes up (was predicted to be $119million before COVID) to roughly $120m we would have a little bit of room to sign the right pieces or AG could be traded before then for the right piece.

BRK went all-in but they got even weaker defensively...they could really use AG, but what’s left in the cupboard. Would Shamet, Luwawu, and Dinwoodie expirings do it? I’m leaning no, but I do like Shamet.
