the guy leading a team with best record so far isnt the pick?

The mvp rn is Lebron..

He is playing like 32 min a game and they are destroying teams rn

Luka can put up all these crazy numbers, but still needs to be a top 2 seed

Lebron may win it off reputation and being robbed last year

He wasn't robbed last season. Giannis was clearly the best player in the regular season.

That shot should count as 10 points.

Gannis was easily the MVP last year. I hope Doncic gets it this year and Lebron gets angry again to fuel him for playoffs.

I bet Lebron knew deep down he didn't deserve the MVP last year. He like Shaq-Kobe-MJ and all the other greats make stuff up to fuel them.

Lebron has been in MVP race for all of his career, but Lukas impact is bigger

Unfortunately he will be underutilized on the nets. He’s got elite role player potential

I think Austin rivers could be a solid pickup for a few contending teams if Knicks try and get some value

Alec Burks is the cheap vet on our roster who I most think could help a contender, but Rivers (& Bullock) could be useful too.

Circumstances matter. Luka started the season without KP. Now the Mavs are missing 3 starters due to COVID protocols. If the Mavs manage to stay in the top 3-4 it could be enough for the MVP award.
LeBron is the best player in the world until proven otherwise in the playoffs but we all know that the MVP award is not always given to the best player.

How about these circumstances:

Lebron just beat the bucks and clips the final week of the season and was a beast

Giannis was hurt and was about to miss weeks with his ankle injury

Lebron was about to win the mvp but covid circumstances robbed him and then the bubble games didn't matter so there was no chance to even win it

Can't have a double standard now with covid, the results are the results

MVPs are always a top 2 seed besides Russ who had the historic triple double season since Oscar and had the narrative story since KD left

Who said that?

Its probably Jeff Green or KD.

Its not like the Lakers have anyone who can guard Kyrie or Harden.

Lebron was on Giannis' heels and Giannis was about to miss weeks with his ankle injury

Covid saved Giannis from winning the mvp

Lebron was the best player in the world last year, it was clear

"O its a regular season award"

The regular season shows you how these guys will play in the playoffs and we all knew that Giannis would face the wall and not have 10 free fastbreak dunks and layups a game

Lebron is the mvp rn

Lakers are dominating teams and that is with AD sleepwalking and Lebron at 75% speed

But LA at least has bodies to throw at them to keep them honest.

BKN has no one for Davis or Bron

Not really sure how that relates to the current situation and the way voters will act
I already mentioned that LeBron is the best player until proven otherwise but based on the vote results in the last few years that´s not always enough. LeBron will probably have the best player on the best team in the west narrative and usually that is enough but he also has one of if not the best supporting casts and easily the best 2nd option.
Giannis numbers are just as good as they used to be and he will probably be the best player in the east again. Making his case just as good as LBJ. I expect voters to give it to LBJ in that case because Giannis won the last two.
Lukas case is that he has to do more than both. He is carrying a bigger load than both and if the Mavs finish top 3-4 in the west that might be enough.

Jeff Green and KD can be bodies to throw at Bron.

For AD it has to be Jordan. I think he can play himself into better shape. He was really good tonight.

Don't forget the Nets also have the MLE and disabled player exception to use. They can add some buyout guys.
